Lakeisha Holloway Identified as Suspect in Deadly Las Vegas Mass Car Ramming
LAS VEGAS (AP) — A homeless woman accused of slamming a car carrying her 3-year-old daughter into a crowd of pedestrians on the Las Vegas Strip was likely on her way to Dallas to find the girl’s estranged father, authorities said Monday.
Suspect Lakeisha Holloway, 24, resided in Oregon and had been in Las Vegas for about a week in her 1996 Oldsmobile sedan, parking it at garages throughout the city, Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo said.
Investigators said she ran out of money and they believe she was headed to Dallas to find her daughter’s father after they had a falling out.
Police believe Holloway intentionally mowed down people on a busy stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard, killing a woman from Arizona and injuring dozens of others on Sunday night.
I'm the first to call a thug a thug and this isn't going to be a popular opinion but I think her actions are classic of someone who just snapped. It's not like she gunned down someone over drug turf or money owed or because of a hatred of people due to their beliefs. From what I read she had a troubled past but up until recently had made improvements in her life.
Has anyone ever considered that these customized names that are so popular in the African-American community might contribute to unemployment and poverty?
I suspect that one would find that the highest percentage of business are owned by whites. I don't know for sure but it appears to me that these names are a statement not to fully integrate into the white culture/community. The question becomes does this statement then interfere with landing a good job.
