Dear Joe,
All Americans can agree that they want low gas prices, less dependence on foreign oil, and more jobs.
But these benefits are exactly what are at stake if Congress decides to end the export ban on American crude oil, which may happen THIS FRIDAY following a Congressional vote if we don't do something about it.
Some Congressional members want to ship American crude oil overseas to countries like China. This is a political move that would put an unnecessary strain on our wallets, while compromising our national security and hurting our job market.
Why should China benefit from low oil prices and not America?
Time is running out. Tell Congress NOW to oppose legislation that ships American oil overseas. Sign the petition today to keep gas prices low, preserve good American jobs, and protect our national security!
Oil may not leave the USA but it goes towards the market and the market dictates the price of oil.. it doesn't matter whether we keep it here or not..
ReplyDeleteWith the glut of oil, the shale producers are being driven out of business by low prices and reduced demand.
ReplyDeletePerhaps opening up foreign markets will help them stay in business. The saudis are trying hard to drown them out by raising production.
Agree with 8:52. Oil is a commodity and price is a simple matter of economics. The US has nothing to fear in terms of energy supply now that we have shale sources. Selling it overseas is a business opportunity that will make the US stronger.
ReplyDeleteBusiness decision not a political decision.
