GO HERE for much more.

Yesterday we put up an article referencing your new Mayor Elect who stated he didn't want to talk about crime because it puts a bad light on the City of Salisbury. The numbers above speak for itself. Rather then facing the problem head on, Liberal Leadership would rather shame anyone for even coming close to REALITY or discussing it and guess what, the media does back away as shown below. Even IF crime is down in some areas, we all know most of it is not being reported. You simply get a case number to call your insurance company but there's no official investigation.

Jake Day said... Is crime one of them? "Absolutely not, and that will never be the message. So let’s eliminate that, and not talk about that, and talk about the good things".

Consider this. When you relocate to a community, do you not check out crime stats? Do you see how desperate Salisbury is by NOT investigating all crimes and instead giving out case numbers for insurance companies. By falsifying ALL crimes, Salisbury is misleading people interested in the area. Having a Mayor who refuses to discuss one of the, (if not the) biggest items a community must face is just wrong and many of our viewers firmly agree.

Salisbury News gets labeled as the Anti Christ because we are bold enough to tell the truth. We are not slaves to special interests and or MONEY. When crime does go down, (God willing) we will be first in line to give credit where credit is due. HOWEVER, we have been confronting the crime GROWTH for eleven years now and their answer, stop creating so many cases, send victims to insurance companies and boast about crime being down. I'm sorry but like you, I/We are not believers that crime is anywhere near down and certainly not enough that I/We believe Salisbury is a SAFE place to live, work or relocate both in business and residential.

So let's hear YOUR point of view on Mayor Elect Jake Day's views of not willing to discuss it, law enforcement only giving out case numbers and do you believe crime is actually down.

  1. It would be much higher if the B&E's were investigated and reported. Someone broke into my car and ransacked it. No finger prints taken in order to catch the perpetrator. I was told if they don't hear back from me the report would not be filed.

My neighbors house was violently broken into a couple of weeks ago 2 AM. The perpetrator kicked the front door about 20 times and then went to the back do and kicked it about 20 times. As this was happening I called the police. About 5 minutes later they finally showed up and went to the house across the street. Not the house I told them. Then while they were across the street the thug got away. Duh! The back window was broken out of the door and all the pd did was leave one of their famous pamphlets. Again no fingerprints were taken. Heck, the PD didn't even go into the house to see if the thug was inside. WTF!

No wonder crime looks down in some eyes, but some of us has enough sense to know it is not going down and if they don't investigate and follow up they won't catch the criminals and they will continue to rob, steal, rape and murder in Salisbury.

Don't think Boy Wonder is going to make changes because he is just like Jim Liarton on this issue. He thinks crime is down.

  2. This guy's a dunce. He say's "We don't know our brand and we haven't identified it, nor embraced it"

LOL-How stupid can one be. The brand is "The Crotch of the Eastern Shore."

A lot have identified it-Crime, poverty, unemployment, blight. Hey Day where the heck have you been? Open you eyes and look around you. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see it!

Agree with no one's embraced it and that is because Sby knows NO real leadership. Just a bunch of wannabe amateurs. A real problem solver instead of talking a lot of nonsense and spin try jumping head on into the problems instead of ignoring them. YES they need to be talked about. They are like a pus filled boil already oozing and festering well on the way to being a full blown infection like the inner cities are experiencing.

That is correct and that is why we need a county wide sheriff's office.

If Jim Ireton, Jake Day and Carl Anderton want their tax differentials then their you have it. The Salisbury City Police Department is nothing but a burden on the tax payers of Salisbury. They are constantly having trouble recruiting and retaining street officers. Look at them today they look like they just came off Parkside High Schools soccer team.

There is constant strife and back stabbing in the department. The PO Leece Cheef can't do anything without the approval of da Mare in da "Bury and this is a known Joke.

If you want to complain about a tax break then demand that your Mayor and City Council dissolve the Salisbury Police Department. Tax Paying citizens in Salisbury do not get the benefit of the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office even though they pay taxes for it. Who's fault is it that you can't get a Deputy to respond to your house in Salisbury if you call 911? It is because the police chief and the Mayor and Council started turf wars. It is not fair that we don't get those services so the blame goes to Jake Day, Jim Ireton and the Police Chief who ever it may be at the time.

The only time the WCSO serves the city residents is if they are being served a warrant.

It is an easy fix people, demand that the Sheriff's Office responds to all calls in Salisbury. It can be done and it will save millions.

He just got elected for pete's sake!
    Give him a chance.

  11. I understand what 12:09 is saying. While yes the chief is appointed by and works at the pleasure of the mayor, the mayor needs to get out of the PD's business. This will not happen because when crimes are downgraded which results in it appearing crime is down, the mayor has a bragging platform-"I lowered crime." If the chief doesn't bow to the mayor, they are dismissed.
Then you also have the state and fed grants dangling over the PD's badge. All these dopey programs like Safe Streets are awarded when crime is reduced, another reason to downgrade. This gives the state and fed elected officials bragging platforms.

  12. Don't be so sure of that 12:49. Unless and until you get the crime under control will anything of any substance then occur. If you want to pretend like it doesn't exist Salisbury will continue to fall further and further into the abyss of crime, poverty, blight, unemployment and on and on.

  13. Stupid is as stupid elects. You just put a fork in it Salisbury. Congratulations!

  14. You don't worry about crime much when the police chief lives at the entrance of the little court you live on.

  16. All you have to do is look at the change in crime rate over several years, compared to the change in demographics. If the reported "crime rate" suddenly stops keeping pace with the rate of demographic change, that's a sure sign the area's leadership has recognized it's too late to do much about it.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I real leader would say the first thing he is going to do is ADDRESS the crime in Salisbury. Nothing will change until crime is down. I agree with poster who talked about all the unreported crime.

The boy has no experience in politics or leadership. He has no idea how to run a business, how to run a city. He can't even keep his drivers license up to date with all the citations and violations he is guilty of and you say give him a chance.

Well guess what the judges and the MVA has given Boy Wonder many chances and he keeps breaking the law! This is what we want running our city? Hell No and shame on the Republicans for embracing this known law breaker and giving him an important position. You people are idiots!!

  25. If crime numbers are not being counted and reported as they should, and those are used to get grant money, it is called fraud. The new mayor BETTER be sure what is going on or his stay in office will be a short one.

    ReplyDelete
  26. What's all of this talk about votes? Somebody is lying because many of you who live in the city did not show up to vote.A community that does not show up to vote does not deserve great leadership.

  27. Everyone has an opinion now why didn't someone run for mayor, there had to be qualified people, there is nothing we can do now. We just have to suck it up and live with it. Since he ran for city council we were told facts about him, but continually we also kept hearing from people just how good he was, and oh so very qualified. This is just the beginning of Salisbury's big downfall, wait till the ---- hits the fan folks.

    Theft - Asset collecting

    Rape - Mating complication

    Murder - Termination of breath

    Assault - Resolving a conflict

    Sodomy - Getting things Packed

    Car Theft - Test Drive

This Blog is here to voice MY opinion and it allows YOU to agree or disagree.

In my opinion I believe Jake is dead wrong ignoring crime and how serious it is to the citizens of the City and County.

  33. I wonder how many dead people voted, and how many people who no longer live in this area voted in this election? I'm sure they made up the bulk of the votes. We already know how democrats like to "massage the numbers".

At least Culver has the experience to be the County Executive unlike your Boi Toy Fake Jake who never had a real job. All he did was participate in a token position with a liberal organization until a friend high up in the State got him a position at Salisbury University and then Daddy got him a "government relations" job with Perdue Farms.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Funny how this information about Perdue purchasing 17 acres and moving to Delmar Delaware came out after the City Election. If you remember Daddy got Fake Jake a "government relations" job with Perdue Farms. If this was out during the election it would have ruing Jake's career in City Government and may have caused a better qualified candidate to run against Jake Day.

You people are not seeing the real picture. With this job Daddy created it would have been prudent for Mayor Elect Jake Day to prevent Perdue from leaving the City or Wicomico County.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Fake turbo boy Day won't take crime seriously until he, his wife, child, or parents get robbed, raped, killed, or other crimes. Then and only then will he take the crime problem in this city seriously for all of us and actually do something about it.
