SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah state child welfare officials on Wednesday were reviewing a ruling by a juvenile court judge who ordered a baby to be taken from lesbian foster parents and instead placed with a heterosexual couple for the child's well-being.
Judge Scott Johansen's order Tuesday raised concerns at the Utah Division of Child and Family Services, agency spokeswoman Ashley Sumner said.
Its attorneys plan to review the decision and determine what options they have to possibly challenge the order.
The ruling came during a routine hearing for April Hoagland and Beckie Peirce. They are part of a group of same-sex married couples who were allowed to become foster parents in Utah after last summer's U.S. Supreme Court ruling that made gay marriage legal across the country, Sumner said.

ReplyDeleteSmart move!!
ReplyDeleteChildren, especially males, need a father, the kind with the twig and berries arrangement.
ReplyDeleteAsk them why they can't have there own child? There just looking for a payday, how long before obama is gone already.
ReplyDeleteHell is waiting,
ReplyDeleteI like it. Good decision.
ReplyDeleteNo child should be raised by any gay.
ReplyDeleteChildren belong in a natural family.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the birth parents should be taking care of those own child. There is a sucking amount of children in foster homes and honestly it shouldn't matter if it's a straight or gay home I they are getting provided for and loved. These children didn't ask to be put in these situations and should not be used as political tools.

ReplyDeleteHere in Salisbury the women are having kids and the state takes care of both mom and child. It could be 1 to 5 kids, but to beat the system they are really lesbians 364 days out of the year and heterosexual 1 day out of the year.Having babies is a scam. The kids are gonna be messed up and the state cares nothing about this problem.Someone needs to do house visits and kick those lesbians out.
