Maryland Officials Complain Of Shabby Capitol Grounds

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — The grounds of Maryland’s capitol have become so shabby that state officials are thinking about forming a nonprofit foundation to raise money to better maintain them.

Members of the State House Trust discussed the possibility Friday.

House Speaker Michael Busch, who is on the panel, says he has never seen the capitol grounds “look as shabbily as they look today.” He says it’s “embarrassing.”

Lt. Gov. Boyd Rutherford says budget constraints have strained staffing and resources at the Department of General Services, which maintains the grounds.

  5. When you hire trash you pick trash this is what happens. You look at any government entity that has an influx of affirmative action employees this is the result. Why do you think they need all the handouts they can carry. You may not post but you can pit lipstick on a pig. It's still a pig.

Exactly. Typical democrat real good at only 2 things-running their mouths and lying. If he were a real man instead of a piss poor example of a human being he would have been out their without any fanfan along with his family cleaning it up so it never would have become an issue. The problem is that it is generational with these degenerates-they want everyone else to do the work. If he has children and they had a moral bone in their bodies they would disown this disgrace. He is nothing to be proud of just like the rest of the democrat disgraces in Annapolis.

  8. A backhanded stab at the current Republican administration. Michael Busch is, I'm sure, more than welcome to roll up his sleeves and get to work. Or he can just run his mouth...

  9. Busch and Miller should never have let the grounds get so bad shape. They spend on irrelevant projects that only benefit their constitutes, waste tax dollars on liberal DemocRAT giveaways and bring in illegals and Refugees at the expense of tax payers. This was going on before the Rebublicans gain control of the Governor seat. This all falls on the DemocRAT's shoulders.

  10. No surprise. O'Malley left Baltimore in the same condition.
