Governor Hogan Orders Flags To Be Flown At Full Staff On Veterans Day
Governor Larry Hogan has ordered that the United States Flag and Maryland State Flag be flown at full staff on Veterans Day, November 11, 2015, in recognition of the valor and sacrifice of our veterans. This action is taken under the protocol for the flags.
The flags should stay at full staff for Veterans Day. It is the day to honor those who still are and have served. It is a celebration to honor America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.
Memorial Day is the day to remember those who had died, that is when the flag should be flown at half staff.
So often people get these two different days mixed up. Again, the Governor did the right thing. He should have sent out a message for everyone to fly more flags.
Gov Hogan,
ReplyDeleteWhy is there schools open in MD On veterans day. .
Because the teachers won't give up a professional day, pretty sad.
DeleteIt is disgusting to know that it had to be ordered. Memorial day and Veterans day should be an automatic.

So they can correct your grammar?
Obama would have ordered this if a black singer overdosed on drugs. Oh, that's right, he already did.

Larry, please send a memo directly to the Civic Center staff next year with a request for a receipt.
