Super Fresh Closing In West Ocean City

  1. I was told that the closing date is Nov. 20th. Don't understand why the Salisbury store closed as it seemed a lot busier than OC.

  2. The Superfresh that is in Ocean City at 94th street is also closing temporarily. I think they said it will close for 4 days and be converted into an Acme.

  3. Everyone thinks that just because they had to wait a few minutes at a cash register the store is doing a lot of business.Honestly I thought the most recent Super Fresh in Salisbury would have closed years earlier than it did.Leasing a building is taking a huge step backward before the store has even opened.

  4. Big signs imply 30% off. Only some items appear to be marked down 30%. Misleading.

  5. when they bought Pathmarks ...they lost their capital position...another case of mergers killing good companies

  6. West ocean city really needs a decent grocery store. Food lion is not great. I hate their meat dept and their selection of products is poor. I would welcome a Safeway, giant or Harris Teeter.

  7. Salisbury closed because that store had not posted a profit since it had opened. The rent was very high and the store just did not turn enough customers to make any $. The West OC store was a very profitable store several years ago, then Ocean Pines Food Lion opened and that cut into the $ they made. Then the Walmart was remodeled into a Supercenter and that hurt business further. When Tanger bought the outlets in West OC, they let Superfresh know that when the lease was up, they would not renew. Tanger does not want grocery stores in their plazas. Acme bought the 94th St and Rehoboth Superfresh but would not touch the West OC, due to decreased business and the inevitability of the lease not being renewed.

  8. The percent off is misleading. It is a percent off original (high) price. Most everything will be found cheaper somewhere else even after the discount. i.e. Progresso soups 20% off 3.09. They are generally 1.59 at Walmart.

  9. C&S killed A&P. This has been a long time coming.
