Student who went on mac and cheese tirade no longer at UConn

A University of Connecticut spokeswoman says a 19-year-old man is no longer enrolled at the school after going on a drunken, obscenity-laced tirade against food service workers for refusing to sell him jalapeno-bacon macaroni and cheese.

Spokeswoman Stephanie Reitz said Wednesday that Luke Gatti, a former freshman from Bayville, New York, was no longer a UConn student. She says she can't disclose why Gatti was no longer enrolled at the school because of federal law.

Many students on campus told Eyewitness News that Gatti leaving the school is the best outcome for him and the university.

"I don't think he should be forgiven because his behavior is just too out of line," said Zexi Ryn, a UConn students.

  1. Looks like he will have to leave this country to go to college. His name is mud! He'll be lucky if he is even accepted into a community college and get a job as a food service manager he was so quick to look down upon. It's true karma is a bitch! What comes around goes around. This young man needs a life lesson in humility!

  2. 12:17 hmmm appears he already got one, and with that lesson maybe he will see the error in his ways.

Standing on your pedestal judging others ... getting lonely up there?

I hope he grows up to be a kinder/gentler person from this life lesson and with that some college would be lucky to have him. It is amazing the lasting impression some of our errors can make on us.

  3. 12:57, Did you even look at the video?
If not, you need to see it, and maybe you wouldn't be so self righteous!

He was verbally and physically abusive to the food manager. He berated him, cussed at him, and then hit him when the poor baby didn't get what he wanted!

He did this for the whole world to see. Even wanted to be on video!
He is a spoiled rich kid. A true arrogant ass!
    He got what he deserved!
Humility is what he needs and I think he has learned life's hard lesson. And yes this may stay with him his entire life. Called the world wide web. What ever you do or say is public record! He will now have to live with his actions. I also made mistakes in my youth, but I was always raised to respect others and treat them as I would want to be treated.
If Hilary Clinton had a son, it would be him!

You forgot to mention he walked into the place with an open container of alcohol. He is also not old enough to drink. I hope his parents lost a pretty penny on this ordeal and make him work somewhere to pay for that and any future college tuition.

  6. The cafeteria worker would be fired and the dean would be forced to resign for racistly denying him his "right" to his mac and cheese, if he was black.
