It’s just the third time in 40 years that payments will remain flat. All three times have come since 2010.
And there’s more bad news. The lack of a benefit increase means that many older people could face higher Medicare costs, an issue that has advocates lobbying Congress.
The main reason for no increase next year is low gas prices.

Wow. Low gas prices. Turn a good thing bad. Can't blame the criminal immigrants or the steady supply to Isis. Or the welfare that's paying all the unemployed. I'm talking just the really unemployed not counting the abusers. So now people would rather have high gas prices to change this.
ReplyDeleteFunny when the gas prices were going up they weren't in the cost of living equation but now that they are going down they have been reinserted into the formula.
ReplyDeleteSo, there shouldn't be a pay raise for the legislators or government employees either!
ReplyDeleteAaaaand what about the below minimmum-wage military junior members? You're counting on them to protect you...and you screw them sooooo!
low gas prices the cause?????? what b-llsh-t al of the illegals we are supporting with gov't handouts are breaking the bank between that and faulting student loans we are steadily going backwards as a country let's give the benefits to senior citizens and veterans who have earned it
ReplyDeleteEach year Hold Harmless Law takes effect if no COLA increase. If no COLA increase then no Medicare premium increase for people already recieving Social Security and enrolled in Medicare before December 31st. If you age into Medicare durring following year then your Medicare premium probably will be higher until next COLA increase.
ReplyDeleteNo, the real reason for no increases is OBAMA and his lies.
