Salisbury University Classes and other University-related activities occurring after 12:00 noon on Friday, October 2, have been canceled MORE
UMES: No classes or other campus activities will be held at UMES AFTER 12 noon on Friday, Oct. 2. All UMES offices open during normal business hours. Liberal leave in effect for non-essential personnel during the afternoon & evening hours
Wicomico County Schools - Friday, Oct. 2: Wicomico Schools will open on time and as scheduled today. School officials evaluated weather and road conditions in Wicomico County and consulted with law enforcement about roads before making the decision.
I'm glad they didn't cancel but to rely on law enforcements word on road conditions is stupid. They don't even go out unless called to a specific location. They don't patrol squat to know all the roads are clear.
hey 7:47 AM.......do u listen to a scanner and monitor every move law enforcement does? have u looked at their websites that detail when and where they are during the day and night? no one else is working around the county or state like law enforcement 24/7. fire depts only go out if there is a call. so law enforcement is one of the better resources to contact when it comes to weather related situations. u are very welcome that they serve in more ways than just locking up criminals. have a nice and safe day.
Gee, a day off for rain. Never in 16 years of public school and college did we get a day off because it rained! Or because Dan said so??????????? He's full of himself.
Doubtful, I have 3 children and 9 grandkids, all of which have or now attending Wicomico County Schools. I believe my opinion should be considered. Don't rely on teachers to raise your children. Look in the mirror. None of my family feel's entitled because we have a strong work ethic.
Smart move John Fredericksen. Quit cancelling school every time someone farts!!

ReplyDeleteThe day ain't over yet. I pray flooding in low lying areas of Wicomico is not a problem while kids are traveling home.
ReplyDeletenever heard of closing because of rain...w/o flooding, esp.

Good. The closings have gotten out of hand. Go to work. Go to school. Good call.
ReplyDeleteTeachers happy for day off with pay - did you ever wonder how today's youth became so "entitled" - could it be the examples they follow?
