SALISBURY - The 16th annual Soles for Seniors fund-raising walk will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, at The Centre at Salisbury, beginning in the Food Court area.
Walkers can register as a team or as individuals. The cost is $15 per walker in advance, $20 the day of the event. The registration fee includes a T-shirt. Teams can earn bragging rights and a chance for a prize in two categories: most team members or those walking the most miles, either by actually walking or by donations of $1 per mile.
Registration and check in begins at 9:30 a.m. and the walk will be held from 10-11 a.m. Exhibitor and information booths will be open outside the food court from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Featured will be a decorated shoe contest, senior craft fair, senior art show, photo booth and demonstrations.
An after party from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. will feature music by The Jones Boys duo, in addition to music by "The Pan Man" Augustine Digiovanna as well as door prizes.
Proceeds will benefit the Senior Emergency Loan Fund of MAC Inc., the Area Agency on Aging. The fund makes interest-free loans to eligible area seniors toward the purchase of hearing aids, dentures and eyeglass costs not covered by Medicare.
