New CEO

  1. Sometimes you just have to wonder if the folks responsible for hiring do any research on the candidates or do they just read a resume and say this person has the qualifications?

    1. Why comment if you can't be specific.

    2. 9:33.... Why don't you ask for specific reasons for his comment?

    3. 11:46. Um. ... that is exactly what 9:33 did. Hope u weren't on the forensics team in high school.

    4. There is no way in hell they checked out his reference with HSB. He thought he could work the system since he had been an FDIC examiner. Kudos to whoever caught him at his scheme.

  2. I guess Bill and Wendy will have to go to Delaware to get their money for their shady businesses now. But I'm sure Greg will be more than accommodating.

    1. I don't necessarily think it is hating, is more what is ethical. Mr. JOHNSON deceived his community, his Board of Directors and reporting agencies such as FDIC and State agencies. He falsified accounting statistics to make HSB look more financially sound than his local competition. When actually HSB was in a bad situation with their real estate loans. He was allowing foreclosed properties to be sold to one of the Board of Directors for an incredibly low purchase price. I believe Mr. Johnson profited from these "insider " transactions. This in itself is unethical. The falsified documents is a criminal offense. I truly do not believe Mr. JOHNSON is clear yet and considering the bad publicity Provident has taken on a huge risk in having him associated with their institution. They will become a target now for FDIC. Mr. JOHNSON now has a risky reputation with FDIC and he is now on their radar screen. Also Mr. JOHNSON was talking poorly about HSB at the J. Millard Tawas clam bake so I hope they realize he certainly has no loyalty to them. I would repay the favor accordingly.

  5. Let's see the proof. All I see on here are angry comments, with nothing to prove anything.

  6. Bill and Wendy Riley's BANKRUPT Allied Building Supply business mysteriously became Peninsula Lumber and Millwork using the exact SAME inventory (that was hidden from creditors and relocated after the discharge) and all that financing provided through HSB by Greg Johnson, and very soon after the bankruptcy.

  7. Hats off to the bloggers of Salisbury News. If I remember correctly you all pegged this hiring months ago.

  8. 10:24-Amen.Just because he looks like a goofball we shouldn't be judgemental.

  9. I cannot believe that the idiots who hired him quite understand the length of his deception and unethical practices. I hope his case brings so much attention to FDIC that he is probed to the fullest. I am going to send in my letter to FDIC today to have this throughly investigated. Something is definitely wrong with the system that has allowed him to continue to work in a financial institution.

  10. Where is Provident? I never heard of it.

    1. Don't worry they won't be in business long now that they have hired him. What a tragedy!

  11. Shocked that they allow him to try and ruin another established institution. Won't take long for him to be up to his old antics I do not understand why HSB had allowed him to walk without prosecution. Someone please answer this for me.

  12. Has HSB gone senseless? Make him to be held accountable for his fraudulent dealings. If it means taking a couple of Directors duwn, so be it. Do what is right and let a judge and jury decide.

  13. Provident is headquatered in Preston, with branches primarily in Caroline, but also Dorshester and Talbot Counties. They kinda grew right along with Preston Trucking when it was in its heyday.

    1. Johnson wants to build a branch in Salisbury so he can take away Hebron Savings Bank customers. It came out of his mouth down in Crisfield. He had a few drinks, imagine that. Poor Provident, I feel sorry for staff and customers. The first time he let's out with a mf'er they will know know the idiot is in town. Instead of good luck Greg, it should be good luck Provident.

  14. I strongly urge all concerned individual to voice their concerns to FDIC or the Maryland Banking Commissioner. If we allow this kind of behavior to go unaddressed we are condoning his behavior. I will post the addresses for these agencies. Voices need to be heard and he needs to be held accountable!

  15. 2:45 please post the addresses. I am very interested in wanting to contact both agencies. Johnson was a Bernie Madoff in the making. He knew how to maneuver around the system. Also why is Twilley and Tawes still allowed to be on the Board of Directors? Does Charlie Smith think they are not giving him information on what is going on in the bank, especially if there is any case against him? They need to go.

  16. I guess dishonesty does payoff. He is walking in high cotton. Made a load off of HSB so it is time for a new fish. Be careful Provident, he is a whole lot smarter than you boys. You were stupid enough to hire him.

  17. Oh Greg the webs we weave. They are going to get you buddy. You have told so many lies you won't be able to keep them all straight. Documentation is a wonderful tool. Let's just say there is plenty where you are involved and not in your favor. Got to love detailed staff. It's called CYA!

  20. 2:45 this is what people here do, make rash comments that get published. Welcome to the internet

    1. True comments, not rash. He is a thieving rat who needs to be held accountable. He is not above the law and the position he held makes him more accountable. That's the fact!!

  21. I agree the Board Members needs to go,especially when one of them bought foreclosures and mortgages at rock bottom rates just to flip on unsuspecting "buyers".It's not hard to get rich on the lower Eastern Shore when you control most of the real estate, now is it?

    1. Misconduct of his position as President and of the Board member. FDIC states these are reasons for investigation. States it in their outline. This qualifies for investigation.

  22. 1.28 based on your comment HSB is ruined? Not sure have a clue

    ReplyDelete
  23. If he stayed in the position he was in it would have been ruined 9:41. They got him out just in time. Why do you think examiners were in there every 3 to 6 months? Not for the fun if it. When they come that often there is TROUBLE. They have a new president who will lead them in the RIGHT-HONEST direction. She won't be trying to line her pockets with under the table foreclosure deals.

  24. If Provident wants a President /CEO who is dishonest and shady then they have found their man. HSB had an outstanding reputation and was financially sound since 1910 AND then one man and a few crooked Board of Directors ruined it over greed and arrogance. Now that is a legacy to leave. I would love to know the BS he fed the Board at Provident. He is a pro who it comes to laying on the crap. Now exactly what to say. Let's see if it works with the feds when they come a knocking.

  25. I ran into Greg at an event shortly after all this happened at Hebron Savings Bank. Talking to him was like talking to a narcissist! It's all about him and his great accomplishments. I often wonder if poor Wanda took the fall for him and instead she was the one who went to prison as there is no way he did not know what was going on. It's a darn shame that people like him keep getting away with sly dealings and make a profit off of doing it. It would not surprise me he is opens a branch here in Salisbury to just prove a point - and will keep getting away with slick deals!

  26. The Rileys and Masseys think their ship has arrived, we'll see. I know Bill well with the Lions Club, he has one motive, just like Greg, HIMSELF! Just wait until Wendy comes clean with her travelling romance, and the family parts ways, Greg will drop them like a hot potato. In the meantime, PSB will see the light, if not the Feds will help them.
