CONSTRUCTION OF PHASE 1 UNDERWAY – REGISTRATION FOR SKATING NOW AVAILABLE

CONSTRUCTION OF PHASE 1 UNDERWAY –
REGISTRATION FOR SKATING NOW AVAILABLE

Construction of Phase 1 of the Salisbury Skatepark is well underway, and the new facility may be completed ahead of schedule. Therefore, the City of Salisbury is now accepting registrations for the Salisbury Skatepark, so that skaters will be ready to use the facility as soon as it opens.

All skaters MUST be appropriately registered with the City of Salisbury – Department of Community Development. Skaters 18 years of age and older must complete and sign a Waiver and Release form and obtain a Salisbury Skatepark registration sticker. This sticker must be displayed prominently on your skating helmet in order to enter and skate in the park. All skaters under the age of 18 must have the waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Please visit the City of Salisbury website – www.ci.salisbury.md.us – and go to the Salisbury Skatepark page for more information. The Skatepark page can be found under the “Information Center” section and in the “Important Links” box on the City website. This page includes downloadable versions of the Salisbury Skatepark Rules of Use and the Waiver and Release form, as well as other important information.

The City of Salisbury – Department of Community Development will have a Salisbury Skatepark registration table set up at the 3rd Friday event in Downtown Salisbury tomorrow evening, Sept. 18th, in the grassy area in front of the old Courthouse. All interested skaters who would like to get registered at 3rd Friday tomorrow – 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. – are invited to come by!

Salisbury Skatepark registration stickers may also be obtained by mail. Please visit the Salisbury Skatepark webpage for the necessary forms and information.

  1. Whatever happened to use at your own risk? Why do you have to give your personal info to the city in order to use the park? Do they require similar info for someone to use the dog park? Or the zoo? or the public park? or to go to the civic center? No they don't so why elevate the level fascism involved with this? Do they really want kids using this or was this a circle jerk for Ireton and his perverted followers?

  2. I wonder what that stupid park is going to do to property values for the poor souls living across the street.

just what i would want, a bunch of doped up teenager hooligans scraping and grinding all night long.

i'm in my 50's, don't drink, don't do drugs, i have a job, pay taxes (IN SALISBURY), i'm married, and i have children

  4. @8:41.

The teenagers using the park aren't going to be the ones doing drugs. When I was younger, I had a hard enough time getting off my butt to do anything other than listen to music with friends while stoned, let alone going to a skatepark and then skateboarding. I mean.. really? You sound like an angry old man. Think before you complain about something.

  5. Anything that keeps kids busy, interested and in a positive direction is a good thing. No matter what, there will always be exceptions with a few idiots that will try to spoil things for the rest, that shouldn't stop this project from moving forward - Tim Chaney - cranky old man ;)

  7. 8:41 AM there are worse things in the world than pot. They wont be using heroin and skating. I would be concerned about after hours use and if I lived across the street I wold install cameras

10:37 AM if you are in fact 50 and using a short board congrats you are an anomaly. Long boards dont count as any fat tard can get on one and claim to be a skater.

10:53 AM you can do plenty of things on weed including fight in the UFC, ask Nick Diaz.

12:05 PM IN my mind the city is the idiot trying to stop people from having fun. With on hand they give and with the other they want you personal info. For what? So they can harass people? They don't need anyone's name to use that park. They can go to hell.

  8. Then I expect to see stickers on every single softball bat at every park in the county. This is only a way to keep track of these kids.
