Davis has refused to issue any marriage licenses from her office since the Supreme Court created the right to “same-sex marriage.”
Bunning admitted there was a conflict between Davis’ religious-exercise right and the newly created right. But he refused to consider any accommodation for her and ruled she would have to violate her faith to stay out of jail.
But the 10th Circuit judges’ dissenting opinion Thursday in another case centered on religious rights warns of the dangers of having judges “examine the reasoning behind a religious practice or belief and decide what is core and what is derivative.”

She refused to issue ANY marriage licenses simply because she didn't think they could make her issue ones for gay couples.
ReplyDeleteFire her and be done wjith it.
Supreme Court can not make laws. So that means same sex is illegal and so is the judge who had her locked up illegally. Therefore the entire issue is about a judge illegally locking up a person for not committing an illegal act. One more time. The supreme Court cannot make laws. That it what it did in this case and the Democrats can interpret the constitution any way they like. Doesn't mean it's legal.
ReplyDeleteFire her? What an AH. If you really want to support queer marriages (call them for what they are), ask another clerk. THIS on clearly has objections. Move on stupid ones...
