WOW, Salisbury Is In Deep...

I stated some time back that Jim Ireton would not be running for Mayor and instead would be running for City Council. Many said there's no way that would happen. Well, I was right. The idea of the old Dream Team trying to regain control of the City, knowing Ireton cannot beat Jake Day, is just crazy.

For at least the past decade this group has defamed, shunned and attacked anyone who stood up to them and unfortunately over all these years the majority have given up and now the City has ultimately lost control of any fairness towards "We The People".

So how does Jim Ireton get back at Jake Day for running for Mayor, he gets on the City Council and makes sure that whatever Jake wants to bring to the agenda each time never sees the light of day. It's all about control.

How embarrassing it must be to go from being Mayor and then running for City Council. Come on Jim, don't you think the City has had enough of your crap. You knew you couldn't beat Jake Day and if you say I'm wrong, run for Mayor again and see what happens.

I guess the big question is, would you vote for Jim Ireton for City Council after now knowing WHY he is running? The bigger question is, will anyone step into the ring and run against him? You have SEVEN days to make up your mind. I'd say whoever does step up to the plate against him will have an easy time winning that seat.

  2. 10:30 - yes the city is for electing and reelecting this clown....considering there isn't a cure for stupidity, the city will elect him to the council and he'll continue to have his way with us!

  5. I used to live in Salisbury and still own a house there. The wife and I talk about moving back for the 10 min commutes and the laid back lifestyle, and better living for the kids. Monday morning I was coming through 50 and decided to get some food and coffee from a local shop. Got to talking with the guy at the register and sharing the sentiment of moving back some day. The guy looked at me and 'why would you want to come back, this place is horrible, I can't wait to leave'..... After that I started driving around and after ten years, nothing has changed, nothing is better, the only thing good around Salisbury is SU. For such a small community it still amazes me how little gets done to improve the place. Those in charge must not get out much.

  6. Even Perdue is considering leaving Smallsbury! They can't get anyone to come here and work for them (partially their own fault for importing and laying off) and the ones that are working for them are leaving as they get jobs off the peninsula!

  9. I will vote for Ireton. There are still many issues at hand but as a business owner the city is better than it was.

  11. Slimsbury and the entire Eastern Shore suck! The same fools that put this clown in office are the same idiots that voted for Obama TWICE!

  12. I thought about it. But it was easier and cheaper to just move. I pay less in taxes to live in a nicer Eastern Shore city. Home values have historically appreciated faster. The crime rate is a lot lower (between 33% and 93%, depending on the category), so I'm safer and my insurance is a lot cheaper. All that I really give up is easy access to some stores, but I'm in town enough that I just have to plan my trips.

I have many fond memories of living in Salisbury, and still maintain some commitments beyond work here. But getting out was the best thing I did for my family.

I do not see where the city is better under Ireton. How many manufacturing jobs have we lost in the last few years? How many new business have come to town? Good question ?

  16. If you though Barrie and the Dream Team -- Dunn, Comegys and Cathcart -- was bad, Day and the scheme team (Shields, Mitchell and Liarton) will be much worse.
