Salisbury Fire Station 2, $4 Million Has Already Turned Into $6 Million

It's no wonder County Executive Bob Culver is refusing to pay for a Salisbury Fire Service. Why should the County taxpayers pay to fund all  of these outlandish Fire Stations? I support Culver and if the City isn't careful the County will easily see they don't need the City and City taxpayers will lose over $2 million a year when the County walks away.

  1. When will our elected officials stop their outlandish and unnecessary spending???? We are taxed to the limit. We don't need these palaces for schools, fire stations, etc.

  2. I have had a brain storm that may solve the county and the cities problems.
First of all let's research the firehouses areas of responsibilities with exception of volunteers . We could farm out or contract firemen to handle fires. Give the medical calls to another contractor with proper credentials.
We could save millions of dollars and get much better performance.
You know as well as I know , we don't need response of 3 or 4 pieces of equipment at a fender bender , just a small example.
We won't be putting any one out of work , they don't do much anyway and I'm sure the hospital would hire them as CNAs cleaning bed-pans.
We are just tired of this crap with farmen , my he row.

  3. How many fires do we have in the city/county..very few. How many fires do we need a hook and ladder? Why do we send a hook and ladder to transport a patient from their home. You might need an extra person. So use the fire chiefs vehicle.
Think POOR like the people who pay in all those taxes. Think of ways to do without....

  6. They are in a restricted area as for as response times. They only have 2 ways to response. That is 50 to Naylor or 50 east, with a draw bridge. That means the main firehouse only serves responsibly 1/5 of the citizens of Salisbury / Wicomico County. This includes EMS service. That is why they are always riding around doing nothing. Bob Culver should alter a lot not just cutting the Funds being given to the Fire Dept. All they want to do is get unnecessary equipment. This also proves no one was accountable for the planning for Location and the specs for construction. This was not built for efficiency. It was built on / for "Egos".

  7. I have a better brain storm - combine city/county services, as should have been done long before now.
