JUST IN: Former Ravens cheerleader sentenced to weekends in jail for rape

GEORGETOWN, Del. — A former Baltimore Ravens cheerleader Molly Shattuck will spend 48 weekends in jail for the rape of a 15-year-old boy at a vacation rental home in Bethany Beach, Delaware.

Shattuck, 48, who received a suspended 15-year prison sentence, received two years of probation Friday morning.

She will spend every other weekend in a probation center and will have to register as a sex offender in Delaware, The Baltimore Sun reports. She will be on the sex offender registry for 25 years.

Shattuck entered the plea on charges of fourth-degree rape just days before her scheduled trial on two counts of third-degree rape, four counts of unlawful sexual contact and three counts of providing alcohol to minors. Other charges were dropped as part of the deal.

She collapsed to her knees after she was sentenced Friday morning and wept as she apologized, The Associated Press reports.

  3. I agree too light a sentence. You know it had to be rape because Shattuck is a very homily looking thing. She is certainly not what anyone can describe as anywhere near a raven beauty.

  4. Weekends only? If she were a male she would be doing 10 years! Talk about discrimination!

  10. If I was the kid I would have kept my mouth shut. After all, free beer and free sex? I'm 68 years old and will still keep my mouth shut.

  15. HER: She goes to jail and is humiliated for the rest of her life.
HIM: He, for the rest of his life, will be saddled with the memory and will have the horror of having his golf partners and friends forcing him to constantly retell the greatest story EVER at every party he goes to. ("Hey man, tell us again about nailin' that Ravens' cheerleader.")
(By the way: My first? I was working my first summer job at Playland in OC. I was 15, she was 28. Great story! I tell ya all about it sometime.)

  17. Rape? Did he scream and fight, get scarred, injured in any way?
It really does a disservice to all the women who have lived (many don't) through a rape.
    9:04 nailed it.
What sissy parents even thought criminal charges were necessary? I guarantee the kid would like a second chance to get "raped" by her again.
Unless he likes dresses and girl toys, too.
