  1. Since when aren't people entitled to their own opinions? Not everyone wants to see someone cramming food in their mouths in world record time.Others would pay to see it.

  2. While of course she is entitled to her own opinion, her opinion only proves one thing, and that is, she is in dire need of at the very minimum a mental evaluation and quickly for her own benefit.
She is a low self esteem attention seeker who if she were really concerned would have quietly gone out and bought cases of hotdogs and invited every hungry person to her home to eat them.
Her words are nothing more than the ramblings of a delusional person and not the actions of a tempered person who is truly concerned.

  5. The only thing that is repulsive is Madelon Norbury McDonald.
She is a putrid foul skank who needs to get a life because hers is obviously a useless one.
This was a charity event that benefited a local cancer charity. This low class big mouth needs to go and tell those with cancer who are benefiting from this how repulsive it is.
Madelon Norbury McDonald and Family need a good dose of public humiliation to slap them down to where they belong.

  6. We can find the devil in everything if we look hard enough. This was a charity event. There is a refined dignified way to say almost anything. Eating contests really are looked at as fun, good-natured, and family-friendly.
If you really care about the homeless and hungry suggest a canned food drive in conjunction with the next event, or sponsor an event, or work on publicizing your own volunteer-driven local event. There are endless possibilities and many would be interested in helping, but not if you're going to do it in an insulting, offensive way to your neighbors--no need for that and it's quite uncalled for.

  7. Is there nothing someone won't choose find offensive? My way of avoiding things that could be found offensive is to simply move on. Unfortunately I didn't do that with stupid article.

  10. Madelon Norbury McDonald,

Please redirect your outrage to the tons of food thrown away in every school district in every county and parish in every state of the Union every week of every school year. Then redirect again to the hundreds of tons of food that don't make it to shelves or food banks because producers and retailers don't want to be sued for giving away food that's reached its often arbitrarily arrived at "best by" date. Then again redirect to farmers being paid to NOT grow certain crops so that prices can be artificially manipulated, and to government payments to farmers to grow the crop that kills us by the hundreds of thousands every year, tobacco.
Along the way, stop whining and put your back and family names into actually doing something about it. And I don't care how old you are, because everybody can and should shoulder some of the work.

We look forward to hearing about your efforts.

  11. Mrs. McDonald has connections, experience and resources enough to make something more than her empty outrage work for the process of feeding the hungry. If her current aim is to eliminate hot dog eating contests, then her considerable talents, community standing and influence are going to waste.
