A Viewer Writes: Water Problems In Pittsville

SBYNEWS:

Something was going on today in Pittsville with the water--we saw many truck tankers of water in town and a fire truck behind the town office. Someone at the JT store said the water tower was empty and the town was just about out of water. If they hooked a fire truck to the town system and brought in water from outside---shouldn't we have the health dept come in and test the water. Should we be boiling our water before drinking---is it okay to bathe in? I guess all that money that was taken and the same man is still running the show we are stuck with this mess forever.

  1. No notices were sent about conserving water. The car wash was still open.....something is up.

  2. Whited,Moore,Tyndall should all step down. They had to know what was going on.Joe Holloway is the district councilman.Let him earn some of the money he is paid to oversee the budget there. The taxpayers put him in and it evident these people are lost and the people of pittsville need help.

  3. They are not going to close the car wash no matter what--it is owned by the fire company and you have the majority of the town council folks as members of the fire company. We would be bone dry of water but the car wash would be open. I agree with the previous comment something is up. Just like all the money missing that has been swept under the radar...I bet they did not call the health department either about the water. I am sure the fire truck water is just fine for putting out a fire I don't think it is sanitary enough to drink!!

  4. Perhaps a quarterly water utility fee should be levied on those lots that don't currently contribute towards upgrades and maintenance for the water plant. Like Strawberry Village.

  5. Boil your water, but don't let too much steam escape. There's only 544 gallons left. The wells are all dried up from the torrential rains we've had. Crop watering is the only thing allowed.

Dollar General is having a sale on tin foil. Better stock up for hats making.

    God help us all...

I hear Denton is the only water source left.Be careful of hijackers if you go there...

  6. If water gets pumped into a water tower it still gets treated the same way as if it was pumped out of the ground lol. That's why there wouldn't be a notice to boil water etc. Some people. Do your research before you start getting hysterical.

  7. Not necessarily depends on the system and how they got the tanker water in the system
If they connected to a street fire hydrant water also got in the main lines outside of the treatment plant
