  1. Unfortunately, this was a fatal accident. 113 Is closed in both directions north of Ocean Pines and may be for another hour or two.

  2. It was very bad to drive by this accident and due to the traffic we had to go by very slow. I never saw a body covered up on the road before.

  4. whenever they use the word "reconstruction"..there has been a death. AND depending on where that team is at the time of the accident..(western shore)..traffic will stop until they get there to do their job. At one time there were 2 teams in the whole state and an accident could take as long as it took. I wonder how many MSP medical examiners there are today.

They aren't elected in Maryland. Each county has (at least one person) who is known as a Forensic Investigator hired and overseen by the Office of the Chief ME which is overseen by the MD Dept of Health and Mental Hygiene. None are elected and none are under MSP.
The Forensic Investigator position is only an 'on call' position. Usually the person has another job which can include a paramedic, an MD or even a licensed funeral director.

Yes, it would seem you are correct, and I was wrong. Thank you for the correction.
