Salisbury - Mayor James Ireton, Jr is pleased to announce
a public hearing to address the future of the Paleochannel, and the
ongoing discussion with Wicomico County about the land adjacent to the
Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex. The meeting will take place on
Wednesday, July 29th at 6:00 p.m., in room 301 of the Government Office
Building, downtown.
Mark W. Eisner, P.G., president of Advanced
Land and Water, Inc. will be on hand to discuss the Paleochannel
aquifer, and the approximately 35 acres of forested land adjacent to the
Parker Athletic Complex. The property is located within the
Paleochannel Overlay District as defined in the Salisbury Zoning Code,
Chapter 17.100, and the City of Salisbury Source Water Protection
Ordinance No. 1912. Both documents are included below.

ReplyDeleteIt is my understanding that this was a done deal between the County and the City as an even swap of land so that the Henry Parker Complex could be expanded to add more sports fields.

The skate park should have been built in this Parker complex instead of in a residential area. I feel sorry for the folks who live on South Park Drive where this park is going up. It will destroy this neighborhood.
