  10. Hey you guys, I am a fireman’s daughter
Your problem is not understanding protocol in this situation
First, dispatch did not know exactly where the boat was So Allen, Fruitland, Westside and Hebron were dispatched to check their areas.

Why dispatch the fire boat if no one knew where to send it Why dispatch an ambulance if no one knew where it was needed.,

Once the boat was located in the Marsh near Upper Ferry, It became Westside’s decision on what or who was needed.and the other company’s returned to their stations.

I am a fireman’s daughter who hopes you all will not trash me too horrifically for adding my two cents. Please stop and think before writing all your silliness or playing armchair fireman. Your comments show how much you do not know about being a real firemen.

Good job Hebron, Westside, Allen and Fruitland doing the job as you were trained.

Since you don't know what you are talking about then you should stay out of this debate.

First, the $Million Fireboat was bought with hopes of being dispatched to every call on the water in the Wicomico River and out to the Chesapeake Bay.

Second, well over a $Million dollars was invested in this boat which was not needed. The Salisbury Fire Department had a perfectly fine fireboat that was even better than the 4 fire departments put together.

Third, this waste of a $Million was hard earned tax dollars that came out of all of our pockets and we are P!$$ED OFF!!

Fourth, no one said anything about needing an ambulance from Salisbury.

Fifth, that perfectly fine fireboat was surplused and given away for pennies on a dollar.

Sixth, next time please mind your own business if you don't know what you are talking about.

And we all agree with Good job Hebron, Westside, Allen and Fruitland doing the job as you were trained.

  14. you are a fireman's daughter , may you are also a dispatcher.
Got a few westside people at the westside fire house who are dispatchers. Westside responds responds to upper ferry ? Mmm ,sounds a little fishy to me.

  15. Not pertaining to this story, but can anyone confirm if Drew Bragg, who is a VERY close pal to Mayor Ireton, has been given the job of Urban Renewal Specialist? If he has, how in the heck did he qualify for this job and what is the salary? When Mr. Bragg worked for the fire department, he was known for being a sneaky liar.

You should not make comments unless you know what you are talking about. That's what is wrong with the world today, people that know it all, like 6:32, that want to try and put their two cents into everything. First there are not a few "west side" people who are dispatchers, there is one. Second West Side did not respond to upper ferry. Third, there are these things called dispatch sop's and the first due and mutual aid companies are prearranged as to what territories they are to respond to. So, yeah, a little fishy that a department responds to pre-planned mutual aid territory. Have a great day! -CD
