WASHINGTON (AP) — Who yelled “everybody into the pool?”
After all the candidate announcements, after all the speculation about who’d go first and who’s yet to jump in, one question remains in this summer BEFORE the election year: Why are so many Republicans running for president?
Surely, the soon-to-be-17 announced GOP candidates don’t all think they will become president.
But it’s easy for a politician to get caught up in the hype and yell “cowabunga!” in a year when there’s no incumbent seeking re-election and no Republican who seems to have an inside track to the nomination.

If the pool is full of compromised or conspiring individuals, it makes the process of determining the candidate easy for the people leading the Republican party. They can selectively cull candidates and have them direct their support towards the chosen one.

ReplyDeleteActually it is indicative of a healthy party, even though there are intramural disputes on points large and small.
Each of the governors running have success stories that are real; each took over a state that was on the ropes under Democrat rule. In no particular order: NJ, Wisconsin, Ohio, Louisiana. Some very talented senators, and one not so much (sorry SC). World's best neuro surgeon. Female ex-CEO of major company. Recognized business tycoon. Some ex-governors and senators with some credentials. Having a selection is good. They need to stay positive and not walk into the social issues trap.
In contrast Democrats have: an old, unindicted criminal, an avowed Socialist, Mr. Rain Tax, and perhaps Slow Joe.
Which fantasy team would you like to choose from?
Where's Trey Gowdy?????
ReplyDeleteCrowded clown car.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you I mean what's funnier than Billary, Bernie and Plugs Biden? Maybe Pocahontas Warren?
DeleteI like Trey Gowdy as well but I think this. Let him go after Hillary on those emails and take it to it's conclusion. We NEED him for that.
ReplyDeleteWe'll support him next time - he is still young and has plenty of time.
They raise money for the campaign and what they don't spend they get to keep. It is called making a buck.
ReplyDeleteHelps to sell books too.
Vote Trump and all your questions will be mute. But we are talking Salisbury where ALL THE fools voted for the Kenyan in chief.
