Addressing a convention of the N.A.A.C.P. a day after President Obama called for a wholesale overhaul of the criminal justice system, Mr. Clinton embraced the idea. He agreed that the law he enacted in 1994 played a significant part in warping sentencing standards and leading to an era of mass incarceration.
“I signed a bill that made the problem worse,” Mr. Clinton said. “And I want to admit it.”
The expression of regret was the latest effort by Mr. Clinton to reframe his record nearly 15 years after he left office and clear the way for his wife’s own campaign for the White House. Mr. Clinton has previously renounced the Defense of Marriage Act that he signed, defining marriage as the union of a man and woman, and the don’t-ask, don’t-tell policy that barred gays and lesbians from serving openly in the military.
Just remember that what Bill might be sorry about, Hillary will capitalize on.
ReplyDeleteTo sum it up, his "victories" were a)wrong, b)wrong, and c)wrong.
ReplyDeleteTo the cheerleaders, that means that HISTORY (which liberals seek to erase) takes a while to settle. What we think is righteous and correct may turn out to be REALLY bad.
Like the Patriot Act, something passed in a frenzy of "patriotism" and "dire" national security straits (at least, that's what THEY say, notwithstanding some OTHER theories about its intent and purpose).
And, the NDAA. Both EVISERATED the Bill of Rights. And you cheered like Nazi supporters at a Hitler rally. Both made a mockery of the Constitution, individual liberty, and rule of law. It
The same could be said of some of obama's "victories " (as few as they are....). obamacare and his immigration policies may end up being huge fiscal and social mistakes for the USA. Killer mistakes.
Ahhhhhhh.......just keep cheering.
The libs are bringing in all the foreigners to mix up the pot so the terrible whites won't be the majority vote anymore. You know, bring in those who will illegally vote for libs who give them free stuff to keep the commies in power. Clinton started it all with selling secrets to China, which were shared with other dictators and now look at the world. Their mushy attitudes about changing radical Muslims will never work.
ReplyDeleteAnt know one trying to hear from this guy.
ReplyDeletethey're not imprisoned for long enough, in most cases, imo.
