BALTIMORE —A Texas incident involving an encounter between police and teenagers is the latest case making national news. It again underlines the debate about the interaction between police and communities.
A conversation many people are having with their friends and their children is what to do if stopped or confronted by the police.
Protesters rallied Monday outside of an elementary school in McKinney, Texas, calling the Police Department to reprimand officers for their conduct.
After being called to the area for a disturbance, Corp. Eric Casebolt was caught on video running after teens, yelling profanity at them and then pinning a 14-year-old girl to the ground, hitting another girl, and pulling a gun on other teens.

The part I missed with this whole encounter, and it MAY have happened before video started, was first contact being trying to stop confrontations, going in with a request foe a discussion among opposing groups.
ReplyDeleteIt might have been beyond that point when officers arrived, but I didn't see an effort in that direction.
Again, the situation MAY have been past that...
Other than that, nobody there respected police, ESPECIALLY the girl group talkin shoot.
Pretty much none these days...
ReplyDeleteAccording to some, police do not have to have any respect for citizens.
ReplyDeleteThe don't. They look down on is all. We are all scum to them and a future arrest.
DeletePretty much none. You might get them back in court after spending $2k on a lawyer.

The way that kop was cursing, WHO would have given him respect? I wouldn't.
I don't think he should have been sent in alone to deal with a mob situation, considering what he has undoubtedly seen and experienced recently. Of course he is on full alert; these kids are bold and disrespectful and acting in a threatening manner,
ReplyDeleteThe white guy jumping around towards the officer just like an orangutan was especially disconcerting. The cop is already trying to handle multiple "micro situations" at once,
He wasn't alone. There where other officers. Now they're claiming he was stressed from two suicide calls earlier that day.
DeleteYou have no rights. You must comply or die! When it comes to police they are the utmost authority. The judges are there for your rights
ReplyDeleteJust comply or you will die, very simple.
ReplyDeleteAs soon as the officer approaches you his job is to find a reason, no matter how petty or harmless, to cite you or take you to jail. It helps if you keep that in mind whenever dealing with them. Don't say one more word than you have to.
ReplyDeleteI don't answer questions has been very effective lately around here. Say that and the coos are more than likely going to move on. They know we are out here filming them.
DeleteThey need something to remind the police what our rights are!
