Hopefully no one was golfing when the ground opened up underneath a golf course last week. It would have been terrifying to see the ground suddenly disappear underneath you.
NBC News reports,
Four sinkholes opened up at the Top of the Rock Golf Course in Ridgedale, Missouri, on Friday, reported the Springfield News-Leader. The largest was 60 feet by 80 feet wide, and 35 feet deep.
The biggest sinkhole started near the practice range at about 6:30 a.m., and kept growing, reported NBC affiliate KYTV. No injuries were reported. Inspectors were on the scene, trying to figure out the best way to fill the holes.
Let’s hope the club had good insurance. When man runs up against acts of God, man isn’t likely to come out ahead – and insurance companies are well aware of that.

Pretty sure this is fake... I have never been to a golf course where they used white colored fake turf for a bunker or aka sand trap...
ReplyDeleteNew hazard.
ReplyDeleteI could birdie that hole.
ReplyDelete1:06 It's a fabric to prevent the sand from leaching down further into the soil. You can see the sand (clearly) on top of it. The grass is like that, as it's shallow rooted, essentially making it appear as SOD.
ReplyDeleteDon't confuse them with facts.....
ReplyDeleteFrom a helicopter one could check to see if any Corvettes were in either sinkhole.People love Corvettes....God does not.
