'COULD THE SAME THING HAPPEN HERE' - here are the DT quotes below:
Those ingredients created a combustible mixture that ultimately exploded in one American city after another over the past several months — Ferguson, Missouri; North Charleston, South Carolina; Baltimore.
Could Salisbury be next?
Each place is unique, but some black residents and community activists say they see a disturbing number of parallels between the cities riven by protests and Delmarva's largest population center.
The Daily Times, WBOC, WMDT - all of them ought to be ashamed!
Publishers Notes: I was going to hold off until tomorrow but I guess NOW is as good a time as any.
Remember that flyer Mayor Ireton so conveniently came across stating there would be a PROTEST in Downtown Salisbury this past week? You know, his office gathered this "intel" and felt compelled to call for an emergency press conference.
Well, sources have informed me that three black women went to Mayor Ireton's Office last week and firmly told Ireton the black community had NOTHING to do with this event. They went on to say that the black community would NEVER use the phrase/word "SBY". They would spell out the entire word.
So no one knows WHO put out the flyer but this is starting to make sense. Ireton wants the attention from the citizens and press because Baltimore and Princess Anne were getting so much. So out of nowhere this mysterious flyer pops up extremely articulate, yet abbreviating the word Salisbury to SBY, VERY INTERESTING.
So who created the SBY thing, well, I did. Since I did that, who else has been picking up on it, Mike Dunn. When I brought this up to friends they all started piecing the Dunn/Ireton/Tilghman connection. They said they were confident that people in Jim's Office were behind it as well.
Ireton is a media whore, period. So you know, there were only 13 black people at the SBY event. Nice try Mayor, "You've Been Blogged". Way To Go Jim, spending taxpayer money on a fabricated event like this one. And to you Daily Times, way to take the bait, IDIOTS.
Probably put out by Julie Glanz or the PR person that he hired who was a friend of his too. It's ridiculous how Ireton is allowed to hire his buddies to take on top roles within the city. This should not be allowed. The taxpayers, residents, and business owners in Salisbury should demand that the town convert to a City Manager-Mayor form of government. The Mayor has way too much control and keep destroying this town worse than it was. How is that even possible?
ReplyDeleteJoe is absolutely - ON POINT - all of the other MSM's never attempted to take a glimpse as to what was going on around Salisbury. They never 'honed-in' on all of the local happenings until just a few days ago when things started to explode in Balitimore, then Philadelphia, then New York.
ReplyDeleteNow all of a sudden they plaster all across their front page;
'CAN THE SAME THING HAPPEN HERE'
DT, WBOC, WMDT - what a journalistic piece of malarkey. All three are an not only an embarrassment to our community but to the Free Press in general. SHAME ON YOU!!!
As for SBYNEWS - what else is there to say. If anyone comes out shining it is SBYNEWS.
IMHO - SBYNEWS deserves to be awarded a PULITZER in journalism. Congratulations Joe - for a job well done.
DT, WBOC, WMDT, Independent - all of them should be fined and charged for journalistic contributory negligence.
ReplyDeleteI agree - all of other MSM (Daily Times, WBOC, WMDT) it really makes them look bad. While they tout Salisbury/Wicomico economy as glass half empty half full, Baltimore burns. It really is an embarrassment for them as it shows that they are clueless.
ReplyDeleteToday's headlines goes to show that The Daily Times is attempting to try and break out of their traditional liberal bias agenda.
ReplyDeleteFact is - with all of the National Media attention - FOX, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, - their hands are being forced out. They really are a poor reflection of media coverage in general.
I would not give them to much attention as someone might go out and buy today's edition.
ReplyDeleteCreating an "incident" just to create "news" is the very nadir of unethical journalism. I guess the 13 who showed up, got pinked.
ReplyDeleteI think Jim Ireton and Julia Glanz were behind this. We all know Jim Ireton is a Photo Op whore. We all know that Julia Glanz is well connected to the LGBT Homo group at Salisbury University. We all know that Jim Ireton planned it for the Downtown Plaza because that is where he focuses his attention. We all know that he put in for a $14 Million dollar grant to the Governor's Office for redeveloping downtown Salisbury.
ReplyDeleteThe few that attended were some of the freak friends of Julia Glanz and it proves her and Jimbeau couldn't even pull this one off. Way to go Jimbeau the Rehobo Homo!! (clap, clap, clap)
As an adult I have wanted facts from both sides. My desires, wants and dreams will never be met by main street media. The is a racial problem that has to and I believe will be addressed by the administration of every town in the US is more concerned with grandiose headlining than showing that things are being done, If there are people hashing out details that are need to be done to fully solve a problem that won't be shown, it's a process and not a magic wade to lay a fair and solid foundation NO PUBLIC FIGURE WILL SHOW THE PROCESS AND IT'S STAGES OF COMPLETION. This is the lazy and Teflon people in office and I think Ireton and the rest of the puppets are proof of it.
ReplyDeleteEvery day the Baltimore event is showcased on the National media - it does irrevocable damage to the Democratic party and all of their liberal followers. Trust me - the Dems are going to try and quell this ASAP because the next election is now underway.
ReplyDeleteThis incident will setback Maryland's Baltimore economic development by decades. What credible business could possibly locate in such a hostile environment. Anarchy is the best term to describe the current type of Baltimore governance.
ReplyDeleteAs a private citizen, I went down there just to see if and who would be there. Lo, and behold, right smack dab in the middle of the crowd was Laura Mitchell, LOL! She was there early hanging with the crowd, and stayed until the 13 Black people finally showed up for the "demonstration".
ReplyDeleteThere.
You.
Go.
The Daily Times is trying to change their color. I guess their new Editor-in-chief decided that it might look bad not to cover all of the rioting/looting while all of the other National medias crossed County/State borders to expose these atrocities. Then - once the National medias got here - they saw how deplorable a business environment Maryland really was. Now they are saying that we could possibly be worse off than Detroit. All the time O'Malley is fretting - won't this incident please disappear. Looks as though Hillary now has the Democratic campaign to herself. This is one of the worse things that could happen to O'Malley.
ReplyDeleteI am surprised that The Daily Times covered the rioting too. Their liberal bias is so obvious, that most of their reporting staff deep down inside thinks everything is hunky dory, while Balto & Salisbury burn.

ReplyDeleteThis is the end of O'Malley's campaign. The hurdle over Baltimore is to high for O'Malley to clear. The Baltimore business environment and social injustices are a result of O'Malley's previous Mayoral reign.
Its pure terrorism...purposely instilling and creating terror and fear..there seriously should be an investigation and charges place on each of them. Problem is theres not one person with the authority worth their salt to do the right thing, and thats goes for the sheriff right on around....and thats exactly why these criminals, communist and terrorist keep doing it....all while good men do NOTHING!!
ReplyDeleteJim Ireton and Mike Lewis are BOTH Media Whores!!! They are purely self-serving - the only difference being Mike has more people fooled.
ReplyDelete"Oh LOOK, a camera!!!!!!!!"
To bad the Mayor and City Council couldn't get arrested for inciting a riot. Saying to give them room to destroy and stand down is words of allowing a riot and not stopping it.
ReplyDeleteFACTS: Martin O'Malley had (2) 4 year terms as Baltimore's Mayor. Then, he went into the MD Governor's Mansion for another (2) 4 year terms.
ReplyDelete4 + 4 + 4 + 4 = 16 years serving Baltimore & Maryland
And yet Baltimore now burns less than a few months after O'Malley leaves office because the businesses have fled and crime runs rampant. Yeap - based on my judgement I would say Martin O'Malley's political career has officially ended.
Thats how Hillary Clinton works. This entire thing was fabricated to knock O'Malley (her only real threat) out of the race.
DeleteWith so much disinformation, it's hard to trust any source. As for The Daily Times, I just wish they would simply report the news as opposed to trying to make-up the news.
ReplyDeleteIt can and has happened here and can still happen everywhere.History has a way of repeating itself when it's ignored.
ReplyDeletePrinting the news that the AP wire feeds them, is about all they do nowadays. The local TV stations are even worse. No local newss to speak of, just the same canned regurgitated newsclips as the "national" channels.
ReplyDeleteHow will dumping millions more public funds into downtown Salisbury solve any of its really serious problems?
ReplyDeleteJulia Glanz is an inexperienced, left wingnut, LGBT Democrat just like Jim Ireton is and she is NOW he 3rd ranking highest official in the City of Salisbury. The only difference is the worst school teacher in Wicomico County was elected and he put the inexperienced person in her high ranking position. Where is the outcry over this!!

You are correct, but don't compare these to so stop being an idiot!!
And while I am reading this - the Baltimore Curfew was just lifted. I am sure that O'Malley called his cahoots Mayor Stephanie Blake and informed her that for every day the curfew is in place - O'Malley's poll nos. popularity drops. Even this is all contrived.
ReplyDeleteI never voted for O'Malley. As a Maryland resident all I got was a doubling in my flush tax, a higher tag registration fee, and a Rain Tax to boot.
ReplyDeleteLet's face it O'Malley is bad news. In fact, I just heard on the radio that he was told to STFO of Baltimore for good.
SBYNews is correct to connect Ireton and Mike Dunn. Ireton hires his buddies. Remember the stink he made over the new city attorney being "buddies" with three of the council members (which turned out not to be be so true - some of the connections were pretty minor, especially when compared to Ireton's connections to his buddies.)
ReplyDeleteWho filed an ethics complaint against those three council members and the attorney? None other than Mikey Dunn. Remember the DT reporting that Mikey also held some high school grudge against Tilghman, the attorney?
I remember all this because for once I followed something that daily rag. Like a train wreck, I couldn't NOT look!
Of course it was fabricated.
ReplyDeleteLets not overlook Fake Day's complicity in that charade.
ReplyDeletewhen word first leaked of this "protest" i already posted a few comments about my suspicions. I fully believe that the idiot mayor and mitchell "were all up in dis!"
