Cancer charities accused of using donations for cruises, dating sites

The Federal Trade Commission has charged four major cancer charities and their operators with bilking $187 million from donors.

FTC and law enforcement partners from every state and the District of Columbia have filed court complaints against the Cancer Fund of America Inc., Cancer Support Services Inc., Children’s Cancer Fund of America Inc. and The Breast Cancer Society Inc. and their executives.

FTC alleges that the executives of the charities spent consumer donations on cars, trips, luxury cruises, college tuition, gym memberships, jet ski outings, sporting events and concert tickets and dating site memberships.

They are also accused of hiring professional fundraisers who received 85 percent or more of every donation.

    This is not new, charities have been stealing the money, especially cash, for a very long time.

    Cancer research is huge. Receives lots of fed $$$. Do your own research, change your environment and what you eat and watch the occurrence of cancer cases drop considerably.
