Al Sharpton to visit city, plan march to Washington over Gray's death

The Rev. Al Sharpton said Monday he plans to visit Baltimore this week to help push police for answers in the death of Freddie Gray.

The New York-based civil rights activist also wants to plan a two-day march in May from Baltimore to Washington, expressing frustration in the lack of answers into Gray's death. Gray, who died April 19 after suffering a spinal cord injury while in police custody, was buried Monday.

"I have been asked by many in the Baltimore area since day one to get involved in the justice for Freddie Gray movement," Sharpton said in a statement.

  7. It's all I can do, to arrange enough time off work, childcare, and afford the gas, let alone food and drink and tolls for the trip, to visit family out of town for a couple days, with or without a hotel stay.

How the hell do these people manage to be "on call" practically 7 days a week to flock en masse to a site, for an open ended ongoing "protest" for days, weeks at a time?

  11. As a child of the 60s I can see the writing on the wall. If Sharpton comes to town...more rioting...more violence. That mayor needs to go.

  12. The mayor "invited" him?

She's a fool, in a city run by, and overrun by fools.

The destruction will escalate, and it will implode and sink like Detroit. Unfortunately, too many of the rats will flee, to infest and infect other previously stable cities in the region.

But she'll be the beneficiary of billions in grants to "rebuild" Baltimore and throw money and projects at the ones who destroyed it. "Community and Youth Centers" and "Outreach Centers" will spring up all over the city, schools, streets and parks will be renamed for blacks (if there are any left that aren't) to reward the residents for their collective tantrums, and the leadership will shift from 80% to 100% black, as will the population.

So long, to the Inner Harbor. How long before the Aquarium and Science Museum close their doors? That will be a sad day, for most of us.

It was bad enough before, but once Baltimore implodes into a black hole like Detroit, the steady production of detritus will become a torrent, and Salisbury is going to follow suit down the brown pipe.
