The Baltimore police commissioner, Anthony Batts, praised this mom, saying she was “embarrassed” that her son was participating in the Baltimore rioting.
Is it embarrassment? Or anguish? The fact is, no one really knows (yet). Frankly, I watched this video and got upset. I am upset at the fact that she feels she has to hit him to get a point across — a feeling that I’m sure is justified. Like life-and-death justified.
I have frustrations as a parent. But my frustrations are comparably laughable.

When the smoke clears they will probably charge her with assault.
ReplyDeleteYou're an idiot and couldn't be more wrong. Any cop seeing that is happy to see a parent finally stepping in and doing what they should have been doing a long time ago.
DeleteAll kids do stupid stuff on the path to growing older. Today that "stuff" can be fatal and this mother knows it. What you were seeing was shock and just as a mother would tackle her child to get him out of the way of a speeding car she hit him. Does it make it right? No. He first thought (according to her) was "what is my pastor going to think of me hitting my son." I can certainly understand her feelings of panic in the moment. I can also appreciate he feeling guilty for hitting him. The bottom line is ..Keep your child safe if you can.
ReplyDeleteThey are teen THUGS not kids.kids are 123456789 10 11.
DeleteSpare the rod spoil the child. Good for her!
ReplyDeleteThis article from the post is merely an expose about how great it is to be a wealthy white family living far from the ghetto. I'm surprised they even ran it. Oh, wait it did say those peoples' situation is upsetting...
ReplyDeleteThis is from 50 yrs of democrats keeping you down in poverty come to the other side the waters fine.
Delete1:17 Too much politics in this issue already. Each side wondering how they can come up smelling better than the other is part of the problem.
ReplyDeleteThe mother was on cbs this AM. If I heard her right, she said she was unemployed at this time, was a 6 child single parent and was just moving into a new home.
ReplyDeleteOur tax money at work and they still complain.
Delete12:42 spare the rod and spoil the child? That's the damn problem too many parents are sparing the rod,to hell with that crap. Parents need to tell their kids to behave in a civilized manner or else, and stand by that. But then of course the parents need to know what behaving in a civilized manner actually is.
ReplyDeleteyou are a fool. this kid needed more than a couple of love taps. If it was my son I would have kicked his ass! wise up you liberal fool. would you rather she be burying him right now?
