LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A fire erupted Friday morning at General Electric's Appliance Park in Louisville, Kentucky, shutting down production at the sprawling manufacturing center that employs thousands.
A spokesperson told media the building was evacuated.
The fire broke out in a non-production building, creating huge columns of smoke as more than 100 firefighters battle the blaze.
GE spokeswoman Kim Freeman says there are no known injuries.

ReplyDeleteOnce upon a time we were supposed to get a GE plant on Connelly Mill Rd,on the left just past the railroad tracks. As usual, the local powers that be couldn't see fit to provide incentives. They were going to start employees off at $10 per hour in a time when the rest of us were lucky to get $5.So much for that.
