  3. Joe did you know that the Salisbury Police Officers get take home cars if they live in Salisbury. Not only do the get a take home squad car they get free gas of course and if they want to go out of town all they have to do is get it cleared first. They are allowed to carry their families all over town in the cars while in the squad car.

Now here is the kicker. Not only to they get a take home squad car, when they get to work they park their squad car in the employee parking lot then they go drive a brand new Chevy police car. No the take home squad cars aren't old and run down they are late model, low mileage fully marked police cars. The only difference is they don't have cameras in them. HUH? Only the brand new cars get cameras so the older cars become take home cars.

This is how Barbara Duncan, Jim Ireton and the Salisbury Police Department are raping the tax payers. Instead of driving these cars until the wheels run off of them they take them out of everyday service because they don't have cameras in them. This is how they got over on the tax payers to buy new cars for the police department that weren't even needed.

Yes Joe this is a fact. These take home cars are fairly new, fully marked police cars with a $10,000 light package and markings valued at a high price.

  4. There are two different take home police cars in my housing development that the officers park in their driveways. The neighbors are in favor of it because the thugs see them and go the other way. We are safer because of their visibility.

  5. Okay. This is a double edge sword. What happens when you see a police car if you are driving? You slow down, you pay attention, you get off the phone, etc. So I kind of see the benefit of that locally. Plus having a police car in the driveway neighborhood makes me feels a lot more protected knowing that someone might think twice before doing something stupid in that area. Now carrying around their family in the squad car I don't mind that either. Cause I know that police office may be off duty but he or she is still armed and can again be a deterrent. Now out of town absolutely, positively not. That is in fact a waste of money. I can't see any reason to travel out of town unless it's business related. Most officers that I know have personal vehicles that they would much rather go on vacation in instead of in their cop cars. By the time they take their vacations, they are ready to forget their lives and what they do and be with family and friends.
