I Have A Question For ALL Of You...

If I told you that I know of a student who will graduate from School this year who has missed almost EIGHTY days, John Fredericksen is well aware of it but has chosen to PASS this person because he doesn't want his numbers to go down, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?

Ladies & Gentlemen, I know this to be a fact.

  1. all depends on the reason for the absences. medical and work all made up or truancy?

  2. Obama edumacated.
    UNREAL.

  3. Why did they miss so many days? Did they make up the work that they missed. I guess it would all depend on the reasons. IF they are passing them just for numbers THAT IS WRONG!

  4. This is corruption at it best.

  5. I would say that his business, right or wrong.

  6. John Fredericksen needs to be fired if this is true. If this isn't known by the appointed Board of Education members then they should do an investigations. If the appointed Board of Education members are aware of this and do nothing to John Fredericksen then they should resign. Then this would be more evidence that we need an elected School Board!!

    you are welcome!

  11. Didn't this happen in Atlanta, Georgia where several teachers got charged and will be serving 20 plus years?!! Yes, I know it was because they altered test scores, but they were also charged with marking kids "present" who never showed up for school falsifying State Records.

  13. Here is another question?

Why is Mr. Ramey at Mardela High SChool allowed to verbally and physically abuse children?

I understand he yells and screams at children at tells them "they will never amount to nothing". I have a good friend who child was actually assaulted by Mr. Ramey!!

    2. Another story of abuse from Mardela. Between Northwestern and the high school. One parent had already been arrested and charged for speaking up about the hidden abuse. Faye Crooper had had multiple complaints of abuse. She is a kindergarten teacher. Now this?

      Delete
    3. By the way, the parent threatened to kill Mrs. Cropper and was charged. He said that she put her hands on the child but the investigation prices that the kid lied. Fui, the father plead to a lesser charge but was found guilty. Sounds to me that HE can't let it go.

    4. I know Norman Fisher was arrested for threatening to kill Mrs. Cropper. He lives near me and he is a hot head. je should have been locked up for this and making false accusations about a teacher. My kid has learned so much this year in her class and to say this about her is a shame.

    5. Mr Ramey wants the kids to succeed how about him picking up trash at a families house because they had no money to dump it or maybe our most recent tragedy that landed one of kids in university hospital and he went to hospital on his day off after it happened to see him or how about the coaching of sports on his own time and Mrs cropper is one of the nicest teachers you would want to meet once again a vicious rumor was started and some nut calls and makes threats to kill her with no evidence Mrs cropper did any such thing if something like that happened the cops would be called there are cameras in the school so like I said in another post you don't like our schools on the westside of the county please go to wihi jmb Salisbury middle ect raise your own kids properly and the school won't have to for you boom

    6. I am N. Fisher. Yes I was arrested for threatening to hurt any teacher that hurt my child. After several incidents in which my child came home with adult sized bruises that matched a grown persons hand print and not one answer by the school I left a message on the BOE answering machine.this was over a three month period. Not only was I concerned but another parent had the same issues. Since living in this area I have spoken to multiple parents that feel their child endured some kind of mistreatment from the teacher. No investigation was ever done. Except the one completed by child protection services who were conveniently called the same day I complained about the teacher. They by the way said my child was in an awesome home with loving parents and this was an attempt to discredit me. Closed immediately. I maybe a hot head to a lot of folks. I admit it as well. I don't know how I got brought into this but since I did , I put it out there. The truth. Its obvious that I'm not the only parent who has had an issue with this extremely messed up good old boy school system. And let it go? It wasn't me that brought this up.

    7. I know when I was a kid , every father I knew would've beat the teacher and the principal over something like this. And that was when teachers spanked kids! More people need to take a stand like this guy did. Let my kid come home like that..........!

  15. he most definitely should pass if "he or she suppose can do the work"... Come on now, they why take attendance. Government, federal and state pays schools for the # of students they educate. Can you imagine if no one showed up and still passed them? That's fraud. Schools get federal and state taxpayer's money. it's theft!! Just like in Atlanta as the previous person said!!!

    2. Spreading rumors? I didn't bring this up . But since Im here now......that teacher did something to my kid. Right out my mouth. I'm not spreading rumors. I'm stating a fact. My kid came off her bus screaming and crying that that teacher hurt me. Then when I asked how? She pulled up her shirt and showed adult hand prints. I don't know how the teacher hurt her but she did. If your kid came home like that what would you do?, and after several unanswered complaints over the same thing before hand? I'll say it right here.... I will kill and or die for my family. I don't know any man that wouldn't.

    3. I know you've been trying to do things the right way. The old you and no calls would've been made. This is nothing more than a cover up by the school. Don't let these people get to you. Your a good person that takes no shit from anyone. It is a shame your were put on blast like this. You did the right things by attempting to call the correct people. I wouldn't have let it go past the first set of bruises. And that school hides all issues behind the " we received the blue ribbon award" we can not do wrong. There are major issues in these two schools and just like all government entities.... They cover for each other.

The issue would be the "one kid" never showed up for school and WCBOE never followed proper procedures and notifying parents, notifying the law, etc etc.

So, they have to pass her for covering up their failures!!! Makes alot of sense now!

That's right a jury said he wasn't guilty and the state charged him again. The only reason he took a plea was he was tired and wanted to enjoy his kids during plays trips etc. The state did everything they could to fry a father for protecting his kids against the government. Think about that folks.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Has anybody answered the big question? WHY has she missed so many days? Is she skipping or does she have a medical note? What is the deal with this person Joe?

  47. 2:51 You are probably being sarcastic, but the truth is there are a lot of people in supervisory positions in the BOE and County Government that need to be fired. This County is beyond a good ole boy county - it is corrupt with those in power not only abusing it but lining their pockets with abuse of comp time and expense accounts.

  50. I've worked for this county for 20 years as a teacher and this does not surprise me at all. I have seen it many times. My principal has changed my grades several times for kids to pass. This is normal. The state actually makes it easier for Freddy to do this. There is no longer attendance rules as of this year. The whole system is a joke. It works just like our welfare system. Kids that work hard, learn and students that do nothing are given grades and passed so that the numbers look good.

    ReplyDelete
  52. More proof that government run public schools suck! We desperately need an elected school board!

  53. Dr.Frederickson does not appoint the board members. The governor of Maryland does.

    ReplyDelete
  54. 1:40-You might need a helmet.

  55. I say it depends on the circumstances. There are many short term medical issues that do NOT warrant a visit to the doctor just to get a note....flu, allergies, upset stomach, short term fever, coughing to the point of throwing up, etc. It's money out of my pocket for time off work (or your pocket if on medicare) for a piece of paper. Not to mention the possibility of truly getting sick sitting in a doctor's office with contagious people.

With that said, that is a LOT of days to be out without some kind of documentation from the parent or doctor or medical professional. I have severe spring and fall allergies which caused me to miss 12 days of school and they tried to kick me out of school in my senior year. Had to go before a board of my teachers AND the BOE to stay in school.

My child has missed more than 11 days at school (Private) - most due to allergies. I knew about all of the absences. She makes up all her work and still has straight A's. Should she be kicked out of school?

The corruption in our public school system is a disgrace. I feel terrible for the teachers who have no say but TRULY know these kids, their home life and their personalities. Public school has become nothing more than a pyramid scheme of making money. It's NOT about the kids any more.

    ReplyDelete
  56. There have been multiple complaints about a teacher at Wi Middle being verbally abusive towards students. She has screamed and cursed in front of her class to the point of being escorted away by the deputy. Letters have been written, complaints filed, emails sent and yet nothing has been done. The principal is her friend. I have heard the same story about her from countless children and yet she's still there. It's sad. It gives the children the attitude that nobody cares so why should they. The school system here is so corrupt.

  60. 7:36 pm. I'm sure that is very fustrating but WE all have to STOP rewarding bad behavior. This is a deep routed problem. Let's just pass all kids.

That makes absolutely no sense. Then we are doing exactly what Atlanta Georgia teachers did and now they await their sentences. We have to be responsible and true leaders!!

  69. I thought they automatically failed regardless of how good their grades were otherwise, if they missed more than a certain number of days of school. At least that's how it was when my daughter was in school in Wicomico county.

Many if not all colleges fail you automatically if you miss more than three days throughout the semester, even if you show up for the exams and ace them.

Which I disagree with, at any level of education. If a kid is motivated enough to learn on their own, takes the coursework home to study and complete, then shows up and passes the tests with flying colors, then that should be good enough. There's enough behavioral problems with certain kids in classrooms that it makes it difficult for others to learn. If a kid has enough of a support system at home, motivation, discipline and intelligence to take the opportunity to learn what is required, why subject him or her to an environment that stifles their potential?

Granted, there are some kids who don't have the "privilege" of educated, actively involved parents that will participate in their education. That's what schools should be for.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Attendance is key. By okaying "poor attendance" teaching bad behavior. It will start the "slippery slope" process. Meaning ...Teaching children not to be accountable for anything. Showing up for work, and on time is also a must. Why are we going to teach kids bad behaviors!!!! Ridiculous people are even considering that "attendance is not important". Come on People!!! 77. If you don't like the public school system because it is crap. Children are definitely abused and they graduate not knowing how to read or write. And throwing all the money in the world at it will not fix it. You should put your kids in a private school where they can learn or be failed till they do. Also they are disciplined or the parents are call to come discipline them. They normally test out a grade or two higher than public for their age. And don't say you can't afford it. It is your kids Just don't buy that boat or new car it is how you set your priorities. My kids come first.
