“THEY CALL ME DOC” Is A Song To Reflect On

The country music group Walker McGuire has been riding the popularity train for the past few years now. Veterans, active duty military, and just about anyone who has listened to their hit “They Call Me Doc” has been mesmerized by tear jerking lyrics, and heartwarming melody. Doc is a nickname given to Army Medics or Navy Corpsman that will risk everything they have to ensure the safety and well-being for their brothers in arms. In this case, Walker McGuire is referencing an unnamed Navy Corpsman who saved the lives of countless Marines during combat operations in Iraq. The song helps people outside the military understand and appreciate one of the toughest jobs a service member can carry out. After hearing this song Veterans and active duty military members reflect on the one they call doc, and may just have a little more appreciation for that person. The two aspiring country singers that make up the group is Jordan Walker (Vernon, Texas) and Johnny McGuire (Fairway, Kansas). Both currently reside in Nashville, Tennessee, where they have their hearts set out to making it big in country music. The journey to the big time has only started for these two, but the both of them are extremely honored that they have touched the lives of so many people with their song.
