  1. We'll get more use out of this little guy than that giant money pit they received as a "grant"

Maybe they should sell the other one. No need to keep paying for insurance and upkeep on a boat that never gets used.

  3. Good idea , they could take out parties for fishing , I'm very sure they have the time.

  4. Another waste of money. let me guess it was a grant.. These knuckleheads will never change. Hopefully the election will change things around here. We desperately need someone with real leadership in charge.

  5. As many still go hungry and homeless. I know someone will ride my butt calling them entitlement surfers, that's just not the case for all of them. Many are only one step away from homeless. As long as Salisbury remains the epicenter of entitlement programs, the quality of life for the rest of us just keeps getting worse.

  7. I'd rather see them get boats from grants then the cops with armored hummers , duece n a half's , grenade launchers , machine guns etc! Quit picking on the entity that helps. Bitch about th3 cops and their toys!

  8. I suppose it was the "fine print" of the article that messed y'all up....."donated"......as in "free".

  9. Nothing in life is free! The insurance is not free the upkeep for a boat is never free. I have to wonder if the volunteers gave the money willingly or if someone urged them to do it. Who controls the volunteers check book?

  10. The other boat will sink before it is ever used, just like the last one the SFD had in the '70's ! As I remember it sank 3 or 4 times then they scraped it. That was when the head of the river was covered with fuel tanks. I don't ever recall it being used for a service call. Not even when the oil tank fire on Marine Rd. at Exxon happened!

Joe- I got the scoop on this one. Because of the numerous calls that Fireboat has responded to since its implementation Hoppes
( I refuse to call him a Chief as he would not make a pimple on a real Chiefs ass) has deceided that there is a need for a marine asst. chief to oversee the day to day operations of the newly formed SFD MARINE division.
    The only qualifications will be:
Have had to step on any boat in last 10 years
Doctors note that you don't get seasick.
Have a valid Maryland DNR commercial crabbing licens
Party with the asst. chief who lives in Delmar
Have a conviction for d.u.i. In past 10 years
Joe I am sure that the SFD have an abundance of qualified
    applicants.
