Abdullahi Mohamud Yusuf, 18, of Minnesota was captured at the airport and charged with conspiring to support the Islamic State terror group.
U.S. District Chief Judge Michael Davis, a liberal and Clinton appointee, has decided that rather than send Yusuf to prison that he would be better served mentoring young teens.
Davis freed Yusuf on bond and Yusuf is staying at a halfway house.
According to the AP, while there he will be “allowed to work with a group that promotes civic involvement as a way to keep youth engaged, with hopes of keeping him on a positive track and reintegrating him into society.”
The AP added that he would continue, “working with coaches, and hopes to eventually continue his college studies.”

ReplyDeleteOK...I understand your comments...BUT...putting him in jail is putting him with a more militant Muslim community with NO chance of change. I can understand part of this action... but some of it is confusing.
ReplyDeleteRepercussions never seem to affect judges when they do foolish things.The rest of us have to walk a fine line.
