I wish that they had a thing here where you give your car keys to the bartender when you start drinking, and when you stop, he or she either gives them back or doesn't, depending on how many you've had in x number of hours. Bartenders know when somebody is too drunk to drive.
All of this is worth it if just one life is saved. For those naysayers about MSP and drunk driving reduction initiative efforts, just how would you feel if you lost a relative or loved one to DUI???? If you can complain then please answer this question honestly.
For every drunk driver caught by police, a dozen more slip by. I applaud those bars who offer a free breathalyzer test to patrons. And those who look out for their customers in other ways when they know they've exceeded their limit.
Anonymous Anonymous said... Yes, bartendes do and people should know when it is time to stop also. Again, the cops cannot wait to catch you.

One of the first things to go when one starts drinking is their judgement. Most think they are fine to drive when in fact they are not.
Anonymous Anonymous said... Police make NOTHING off DUI arrests. NOTHING. DUI's kill several hundred people a year in Maryland.

Yeah, just like they don't have ticket quota's and don't receive any money from traffic tickets.

I remember a long time ago they had these in bars. They didn't last long, probably from lack of use.
Msp gets no money. Tons of paperwork and many times the court dates are on there days off. Then there are the high price attorney's who try and get there clients off. Have you ever thought that the trooper truly cares about saving lives.
Seriously, they want to catch you so they can fil their coffers with fine money. Plese don't act the hero.

Is that why they kill so many thousands each year?
