Ferguson City Manager Cited in Justice Department Report Resigns

FERGUSON, Mo. — The city manager of Ferguson, whom a Department of Justice report blamed for overseeing the financially driven policies that led to widespread discrimination and questionable conduct by the police and the courts here, has agreed to resign. The announcement came during a City Council meeting on Tuesday, about a week after the scathing Justice Department report was released.

The manager, John Shaw, 39, had held the post since 2007. As Ferguson’s chief executive, he was the city’s most powerful official.

Mr. Shaw, who has not spoken publicly since the report was issued, offered a staunch defense in a page-long letter to the community that city officials distributed during the Council meeting.

  1. I think all city employees including the police dept should resign and let the thugs fend for themselves. Perhaps when the business owners, who are mostly black, start protecting their property with force, you may see a change in attitude amongst the robbers and looters.

  2. Financially driven policies, hmmmmm, where have we seen this before? Salisbury perhaps?

  3. The DOJ hasn't presented any evidence of wrong doing.

  4. No, but the "report" was a thinly veiled declaration of open season on white administrators of any kind, especially those who refused to redefine "justice" as "unconcerned with truth or fairness".

The writing is on the wall, and they know it. Once Ferguson devolves into a black run city, it will meet the same fate as other BRC's, only faster. Within 5 years, Ferguson will be a microcosm of Detroit, and the latest greedy, blustering ghetto hellhole full of sullen, non-productive, demanding ingrates.

Property values have apparently already begun to plummet, as the tax paying segment of the population cuts their losses and moves away, far away. As the demographics shift even further, only the rats will be left on the sinking ship.
