Blooming In Our Living Room In February

I believe it's called a amaryllis. My Wife has had this thing for at least 10 years and says most people throw them out after they bloom the first time. This is evidence that's not necessary. Blooming in February, wow.

    I tried once to get last year's bulb to re-bloom, but it didn't happen. I'm not sure what I did wrong. They are beautiful flowers.
