‘Black Brunch’ Protesters Strike Again — but Restaurant Staff, Customers Don’t All Stay Silent

A few months back, “Black Brunch” protests made headlines as groups walked into restaurants (i.e., “white spaces”), stood among diners and loudly read statistics and proclamations regarding black oppression — while video cameras rolled.

With few exceptions, staff and customers sat through the protests — though a number later posted on social media their displeasure with the whole thing.

On Sunday, Black Brunch protesters in Decatur, Georgia, geared up for more of the same.

But this time they apparently were met with a bit more resistance.

  3. In all the discussion about racism lately, it's odd that the racism I've seen has been coming from black people, not whites.
This group was clearly trying to provoke something, not bring something to someone's consciousness.
The term 'white privilege' is a contrived notion being used to justify racist rants and behavior. It's part of the victim mentality that is keeping black people oppressed and enslaved.
If you really want to make progress on social issues, just skip all the race stuff and speak honestly from one adult to another. That will work much better.
There has certainly been some history that has contributed to where black people are today, but where you go from here is up to you.

  4. Oh good lord...what a load of crap. These losers spend their life telling others what they're entitled to instead of working for it. They are lazy, ignorant, despicable human beings.

  5. Until white people stand up this crap will continue to happen. In this case I blame the restaurant manager for not throwing them out. If I were eating there I would have confronted them and busted somebody's face.

  6. I agree with the above. However look at the stories. "White spaces"? The media isn't helping.

  7. Actually, 5;40, confronting them and/or throwing them out would just feed into their immature 'protest' and give them something to distort toward further justifying what they're doing.
Perhaps the most effective thing might be to completely ignore them.
Or invite them to have a seat and join you. :-)

  8. Call the cops immediate and tell them you are being harassed and threatened--press charges--Then the business should sue them..

No one can come into any business any disrupt it without consequences..

IT's private property--trespassing as soon as the owner says it is..

Put them in jail and they can preach to overwhelming majority that is in jail--sort of like preaching to the choir

  9. 6:00 You are part of the problem. There is no justifying what they are doing. Perhaps the best solution would be for every customer in the restaurant just get up and leave and not pay their bill. The restaurant owner can just send the bill to your sorry ass.
