BALTIMORE —TurboTax resumed filing state tax returns Friday night after temporarily stopping them because of reports of fraud.
A rise in suspicious tax filings in at least 18 states prompted the popular tax-preparation company to suspend processing online state tax returns on Thursday before resuming full operations at 6 p.m. Friday.
TurboTax's parent company, Intuit, said state tax returns already filed when the halt began will be transmitted as soon as possible.
