I really think these businesses should be closed when it gets to this state of snow for this area. Yes places that get far worse stay open but really there are to many idiot drivers here on the shore that have no idea how to drive in snow.
My thought is if every place was closed then people would not feel the need to hit the roads and go shopping thus causing more accidents.
Last year my wife was forced to go into work and had a severe accident along the way. Banged herself up pretty bad and the truck was destroyed.
I used to work for a small business and the owner would never let us take off no matter how bad it was outside. The problem was we would get maybe one or two customers which would not justify paying us to be there all day.
Of course places like hospitals and essential services still have to have employees show up for work but the private businesses should allow their people to stay home and safe until the roads improve.
My employees have the option of staying home. They can take the day without pay or if they choose use a sick or vacation day. This is an excused absence.
No! We are chilling in Palm Beach.

ReplyDeleteAll public sector jobs should have to report. If they're getting paid, they should be there or lose vacation days.
