Back Road Conditions

The back roads in Sussex and Wicomico County are not good. While they concentrate on the main roads, we probably won't see them plowing the back roads until some time this evening.

I'm told they are now starting to spread salt on the main roads after clearing the snow. So sit tight Ladies & Gentlemen, they'll get to us soon enough.

  1. I live on a very rural tar and chipped road and they have been down 3x. We can almost see the road itself.

  5. Couldn't handle Boston snow on shore, we'd all die. But I'd be able to wipe my butt, have an omelet with toast and a cold glass of milk.

  6. How about the city of Salisbury roads? My street has not been touched, but per the Mayor's press release I cleared my sidewalk and those of my 90 year old neighbor and the vacant home next door. This was for "Safety". I guess snow covered streets are safe.

  7. Our street's been done in Fruitland. Thanks, Roads guys, for all your hard work & hours you pull throughout a snow event such as this!

  8. Live in the city one street over from a snow emergency route. The only way I ever see a plow is to walk a block to that street. Definitely not getting anything for my taxes. This is how it has been for years, need at least a foot of snow and then maybe the plow will come down our street three days after the storm has ended if we are lucky.

Otherwise our road is cleared by a warm-up and sun.

  9. 5:15 can you drive on your street at all, if you can what are you complaining about. If its a side street and everyone is driving carefullywhat difference does it make? It just sounds like you are upset because someone else is getting something you aren't.

  10. No 5:27 in the city it's do as I say, not as I do. You don't clean off your sidewalk, the snow police get you. I completely understand 5:15 frustration. He has to follow the rules, and pays taxes, but once again, the city could care less.

They only know you when they want your money. Otherwise just shut up taxpayer.
