Last night WBOC did a couple interviews with select people THEY wanted you to hear from. The first was Memo Diriker who stated, "the trend is positive for business and jobs". REALLY, SERIOUSLY?
WOW, I don't know about YOU but perhaps IF WBOC had actually PUBLISHED the monthly Jobs Reports SBYNews has been publishing for YEARS, they just might have a clue as to how much BS that statement actually is.
Nevertheless, it doesn't fit WBOC's agenda, so you get what you get.
Then there was the interview with Wayne Strausburg. He said that Labinol in Texas is doing the same work down there as they are in Salisbury. NOT TRUE! In fact, if Wayne, Jimmy and Mikulski had done any real research they would have learned that there's nowhere near enough room in the Texas facility to relocate what they do in Salisbury down there.
I've been told the French companies main goal is to ultimately relocate the majority of their company to Mexico where the pay scale is much lower.
It seems everyone is squirming on this matter, especially Ireton and Mikulski. They keep talking about 650 jobs lost when it's really 975. Nevertheless, there will be an investigation into this whole matter.
In the mean time, Wicomico County is NOT on the rise business wise. Sure Wayne, there are a LOT of opportunities here and like I've been saying for YEARS, the rest of the world just needs to know we're here. I wonder where he got that from last night?
Cheap Mexican labor assembling wiring harnesses for aircraft… now there’s a good idea.
ReplyDeleteHow in the hell is re-training going to help these people if there are no jobs to fill? What little there is here is in the service sector and it only pays minimum wage at best with reduced hours. At least Teachers still have their jobs. Shame we won't have a tax base to support them or any other local and state government job.
ReplyDeletethis area has been on a downslide for 30 years.
ReplyDeleteThis is what you get when you give money away with no actual strings attached. The govmt is good at that.
ReplyDeleteThen WBOC should move to Texas also.
ReplyDeleteWhy is strasberg still working for the county Bob.
ReplyDeleteMemo Diriker!! What a driveling puke of a liberal liar!
ReplyDeleteMaybe the outlook is good in the SU liberal regression world, but he's not fooling anyone and he is making a fool of himself.
LOL BUSINESS. OPPORTUNITY ON THE RISE ? On a rise of LEAVING THE CITY AND COUNTY LIKE A BAT OUT OF HELL TAKE TOUR PICK OUT OF HUNDREDS OF EMPTY BUILDINGS WBOC YOU FOOLS.
ReplyDeleteI have come to the point where WBOC and WMDT doesn't appear on our tv. All this lip service they deliver is nothing more than lies and more lies. I cannot stand to sit here and listen to the crap they come up with however, if anyone wants to know anything about at all about Delaware, all you have to do is turn them on and tune them in and they'll deliver.
ReplyDeleteAny investigation into this matter will result in a conflict of interest. The larger the case the less chance of objectivity. There is far too much money involved to suggest that the entities involved can be separated.Any honest investigative team would place themselves in a life threatening situation.
ReplyDeleteEveryone is lying.
ReplyDeleteLabinal had a job in the paper last summer for their accounting department. My neighbor who works there told me not to apply for it as the facility will be closing and it was a waste of my time.
They knew when they applied for the federal grant that they were moving, as some of the employees were privy to that fact as far back as early last year.
I also knew an illegal who lived down the street that worked there. He brought work home at night and brought it back in during the day for inspection. They must have been paid on piece rate and not hourly. I never asked.
For what the company was paid in government contracts, it most certainly was not shared with the employees.
They do not care about anything but money.
You can't expect them to focus on the degrading problems of our area: they have their orders.. So what else is there to report?? Only more businesses going down, people unemployed and rising crime, plus a government out of control...
ReplyDeleteThey hired ILLEGALS to make government parts holy S,.t.
ReplyDeleteMaybe wboc and wmdt should close the stations to save money. We can get news out of baltimore. I could care less what the counties are serving for school lunch.
ReplyDeleteSteve Hammond has been delusional for years.
ReplyDeleteIt would have been nice to hear a few words about the trauma this has cause the people losing their jobs instead of Strasberg commenting on how much tax dollars would be lost. Cold, black heart. Pollitt and his cronies have only cared about themselves and what they could get from taxpayers and spend, spend, spend! Why is Culver keeping Pollitt holdovers? He needs to keep cleaning house. There are plenty of people who will step up if he gets rid of the cancers in the government. If we wanted those people, we would have elected Ricky P again!
ReplyDeletelmao memo is a complete idiot. He makes his living off the taxpayers working at SU. How about he get a real job in salisbury paying what he makes there. Never happen! but keep up the bs and the lies!
ReplyDeleteI got some cheap swamp land in Florida for sale too.
ReplyDeleteC.E. Bob Culver has more business savy and experience in his left thumbnail than strausberg has between his ears. Talking or listening to him is just like listening to Pollitt or Mackes. Spin,Spin,Spin.
ReplyDeleteWicomico is dead and looks like inner city Baltimore.
