Dear Verizon Customers: Don’t Hold Your Breath Waiting For Rollover Data Plans

While T-Mobile and AT&T have each recently started allowing smartphone users to carry over unused data from one month to the next, customers of the nation’s largest wireless provider shouldn’t hold their breath waiting for Verizon to announce something similar.
Verizon Chief Financial Officer Fran “ShamWow” Shammo tells CNET that rollover data isn’t in the cards for Big V.

“We’re a leader, not a follower,” said Shammo in apparent disregard of every hubris-filled industry leader who dismissed market trends to their own peril.

“We did not go to places where we did not financially want to go to save a customer,” continued Shammo, whose name is really fun to say. “And there’s going to be certain customers who leave us for price, and we are just not going to compete with that because it doesn’t make financial sense for us to do that.”

  1. The only thing good about verizon is their coverage. On the Eastern Shore all the other providers are spotty at best. Give me a comparable alternative and I would drop Verizon without even a thought.

  5. I actually paid 300$ to get rid of verizon before my contract was up. Bad customer service. My monthly bill was ranging anywhere from $89-94 a month. Was sick of paying that much. Went to straight talk and love it! Same smart phones, for only 45$ unlimited EVERYTHING! Great reception. I do NOT miss Verizon!

  9. Regardless of carrier, the whole data plan thing is a complete rip off. $10 a month for 1 or 2 gig of data?? If you're still on a 3G phone...great, you'd be hard pressed to use 2gb of data maybe but a 4G phone will eat through that in no time. Here's proof positive that cell data is a complete scam. I'm fortunate enough to be still on the unlimited data plan (although I have to pay full price for a new phone) ok? UNLIMITED data. But to turn on my hotspot feature costs me another $40 a month.....uuuuuuuhhhm....why? I already have unlimited data. Does the extra $40 give me unlimited unlimited data???? Try getting a logical answer from a VZW customer service rep.
