Watch What Happens When a 76-Year-Old Man Is Confronted By Police for Not Displaying a Vehicle Inspection Sticker

Police in Victoria, Texas, placed an officer on administrative duty pending an investigation after an altercation with a 76-year-old man who didn’t have an inspection sticker on his car.

Victoria resident Pete Vasquez pulled over at the Adams Auto Mart, where he helps with mechanical work, when the officer, 23-year-old Nathanial Robinson, got out of his patrol car and confronted him. The 76-year-old is seen on dashcam video pointing to the dealer license plate on the back of the car.

The Victoria Advocate newspaper reported that Vasquez told Robinson the vehicle was exempt from requiring an inspection sticker because it still had dealer tags. Police chief Jeffrey Craig later confirmed to the paper that the vehicle was, in fact, exempt.

  1. They need to start pressing charges on this officers. This man did NOTHING illegal. The officer was in the wrong. His lack of knowing the law then beating up an elderly man should put him in the slammer for a few years.

  2. Ignorance of the law is no excuse for the civilian. Ignorance of the law should be doubly no excuse for the law enforcement officer.
All the officer had to do was to radio his supervisor for advice. A big DUH on him.
    Officers, when in doubt, ask.

  4. Incompetent idiot. Should be immediately fire, and charged with assault.

This guy probably could not get a job with a real police dept, so here he is.

  6. Fire this cop. That kind of take-down on a senior for an inspection sticker????? Even IF the sticker was a good stop, the rest of the picture should get him fired forever.

Get a job in the WWF.

  7. Getting out of his car without instruction... Walking away from an officer giving orders... Body language was combative and he seemed unwilling to listen and obey the officers commands. Nothing wrong here.

You cop haters can pound sand, as you're all blood hungry savages looking for your next victim.

  10. 8:19.....FOR REAL?
Did you attend one of those seminars where the police are coached and instructed on how to attack, shoot, and beat people and the reasons available to them to justify those actions??
Combative? Because he knew the law when the ENFORCER of the law (who, above anyone else, SHOULD know the law, especially those concerning stickers, tags, etc) did NOT?
The guy was 76 years old and this tough guy had to body slam him (!!) and taser him?
And YOU think everything went by the book?? Please God, tell us you are not a cop.
Everyone who criticizes the police is not a "cop hater".
Some of us just resent the over-the-top escalation (and often resulting murder or injury) by people who are supposed to be trained in DE- escalation, minimal use of force, calm judgment, and self-control.
    Like I said,....SUPPOSED to be....
Also like I said,....please God, say he ain't a cop.....
