USPS Workers Say They’re Overworked Thanks To Delivering Your Holiday Packages On Sundays

Once upon a time, Sundays provided a much-needed day of rest for the nation’s postal service workers. But that all changed when the United States Postal Service and Amazon kicked off a partnership to deliver packages seven days a week, and now, a year later, workers say the deal has resulted in long hours and weeks without a single day off.

  2. LET'S SEE NOW, with the regular wage about $44.00 per hour (plus benefits), that makes their gross pay about $3,212.00 per week. I could survive delivering packages a long time for $3,212.00 a week.

  3. Simply unbelievable. Fire those lazy entitled people and get people that will perform.

  4. Quit belly-aching... Very shortly there will be a huge glut of (now legal) Mexican and Cuban workers that would gladly take your job. And they will.

  5. I'm not sure who is paid $44 an hour. The ones working 7 days a week aren't the ones who have been there for years, but the new guys/relief drivers. My husband has been working for the post office 7 days a week for $16/hr. It's not about the money, but having time off to spend with your loved ones. Especially during the holidays.

  6. They need to have longer hours at all of the Post Offices this time of year. The one that is in the area near Planet Fitness closes at 4:30 each day and is closed on Saturday. This should not be, we the customers want longer hours, we too work for a living.

  7. $16.00 per hour?? The STARTING pay for a postal janitor is $24.71 per hour. Look it up. Something sounds not quite right. Maybe somebody is paying too much in Union dues.
