“We are simply seeking a fair deal, which adequately values our number-one-rated and award-winning news, sports, entertainment, and weather programming that is paramount to our local viewers,” said Craig Jahelka, WBOC's and FOX 21's vice president and general manager. “In fact, for both of our stations, we are asking for far less than what DISH pays for other channels. And we cannot in good conscience offer DISH our signals for free, knowing that they charge their customers for them."
WBOC's and FOX 21's long-term agreement with DISH expires on Dec. 31, 2014. Unfortunately, WBOC and FOX 21 cannot force DISH to strike a deal to keep the stations' programming on its channel lineup after that deadline.

Publishers Notes: In my honest opinion, FOX should be cancelling their contract with WBOC anyway. WBOC is a LIBERAL News Station, period. I watched BOTH shows last week at one time. I flipped from one WBOC station to the other and they were broadcasting the exact same information.
I have also noticed an extremely higher volume of commercials any more. I'd guestimate we're only getting about 12 minutes worth of news these days while being subjected to a ton of car dealership commercials.
The above information seems to be a yearly event with DISH Network and WBOC. To me, it's all about selling commercials and NOT representing conservative views.
Bad as they suck? And charging so much for advertising... They should pay dish to be on !
ReplyDeleteThis is Smallsbury, not NYC.
ReplyDeleteHis ego is blinding him from recognizing the truth.
I do not find anything award winning about the news. 5 minutes of Delaware news and then regurgitated national news.
F wboc and dish.,
ReplyDeleteThey both suck
Antenna TV is looking to be a pretty good alternative!
ReplyDeleteKeep your $4!t up @$$40l3$!
Direct TV just went through this crap. Funny how it is with the same channel, Wboc.
ReplyDeleteAnd, at the end of the day...who the F cares?
ReplyDeleteIf you want news about Salisbury come here SBYNEWS.
ReplyDeleteTrue, we are buried in commercials in all media. In a half hour program, there aren't 15 minutes of program, the rest is commercials.
ReplyDeleteWho really cares what is going on at WBOC/FOX?
ReplyDeleteTake a liberal news station, not my Fox news.
ReplyDeleteI will get an antenna and stream the rest from Amazon and Netflicks. The savings will be more than enough to pay for Christmas next year. Thanks y'all for helping me to take the leap.
ReplyDeleteGood no more constant Holly Kia commercials with the two idiots and the bogus $5000 dollar give away. So tired of that one on BOC and DMT.
ReplyDeleteNot only tired of Holly Kia commericals but the Johnny Janosik commercials need to go also. Enough of both and how about telling us what is going on in Salisbury and forget the damn Delaware news.
ReplyDeleteC. J.
ReplyDeleteYour station (WBOC) is a POS!
I haven't viewed either in the last 10 years, so the only opinion I would have is that 16 & 47 don't exist in the first place. Same with the Daily crimes, which reports none of the above.
ReplyDeleteEverything I need for news is right here at SBYNews.
I do not understand the need to visit the MSM sites, and watch my tv on Direct, but will shop the introductory rates all day long.
WRDE has good local news.I hope they stay.
ReplyDeleteI'll be sad for two reasons if we lose WBOC on DISH. I will miss:
ReplyDelete1. ...The air-headed news-babe in the morning that gets my motor running. She does, that is, until she opens her mouth to attempt an ad-lib on air, with Jeremy Froggy or whatever that idiot's name is.
2. ...The five-minute sportscast of some high school game(s) that no one - not even the students - care about one whit. "...Final score, Smallville 95, Tinytown 26. More film at eleven!..."
BTW: I will give props to WRDE for local news. Not a lot of cameras on the scene (yet), but MUCH better coverage of local news that those other two stations.
So my assuming my monthly bill will be lower now with the exit of some useless channels. That's good news!
ReplyDeleteWhat about "Young & the Restless" how would I watch it without WBOC...
ReplyDeleteLet them drop it. WBOC will come crawling back after a week. Dish plays hardball with all of their providers, and they always win. This helps consumers of all providers (not just Dish) as it keeps the market price realistic.
ReplyDeleteI've been watching the news on 47 and prefer it to BOC anyway. They have better weather and local sports.
ReplyDeleteHey WBOC quit LYING Dish provides the LOCAL channels to the customers FREE OF CHARGE!!!!!! So stop trying to blame it on DISH!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteJim from Holly Kia must be just as stupid as the two Holly Kia fools. He keeps them around for his cheap C rated commercials.
