(FREDERICK, MD) – Maryland State Police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found on the side of the road early this morning in Frederick, Maryland.
A positive identification of the woman has not yet been made. The African American female was found by passing motorists on the road side. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Frederick County emergency medical personnel.
Just after 3:30 a.m. this morning, troopers from the Frederick Barrack were called to the area of Route 40, west of Ridge Road in Frederick, Maryland for a report of a body. Passing motorists called 9-1-1 advising they saw a body lying on the shoulder of the road. Emergency medical personnel was immediately called. They pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
Troopers requested Maryland State Police crime scene technicians and investigators from the State Police Criminal Enforcement Division to respond. The roads in the area were closed during the initial investigation. The body has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
