Bob Culver Is Your New Wicomico County Executive

It was a standing room only crowd earlier today for the swearing in of the new Wicomico County Executive Bob Culver.

It certainly was the "Who's Who" of the Eastern Shore but what an honor it was to welcome Governor Elect Larry Hogan, who delivered an incredible speech full of hope and enthusiasm for the Eastern Shore.

Former County Executive Rick Pollitt did not attend, nor did Mayor Jim Ireton. Nevertheless, both Bob and Mr. Hogan thanked Mr. Pollitt for his service and dedication.

More to come...

  2. Of course the liberals did not attend.. that is in poor taste--but expected.

Good riddance Pollitt and hopefully Ireton very soon---don't let the door hit your behind--unless your Ireton--he likes that

  3. A great event filled with so much hope for the future.

  4. Understanding that they were invited and did not attend speaks volumes about the Dumbocrat way!

  5. Some folks have class and some don't. It isn't news, but it is disappointing.

  6. What a sore loser Pollitt is. What a wonderful event to happen in Salisbury today.

Extreme poor taste and undignified and the only excuse would be if they had died, were in jail or in the hospital. Nothing else will cut it. The day for this is set in stone, and all schedules of all representatives within the county should have been cleared a long time ago, for this event.
    But am I surprised-No.

  8. Funny. I see Jim Mathias sitting right in the front row. It's not democrats vs republicans as we all like to say. Sen. Mathias is a class act and is the only democrat I voted for in the election.

  9. Jake Day was there, too. Some Democrats in this county get it. They don't worry about partisan lines.

You took the words right out of my mouth and beat me to it. I did see Chuck Cook there. NOT!!

A late appearance was made by that clown Fake Day and he wasn't even acknowledged. He only showed up because he wants to be the next Mayor.

Oh Bull Sh!t he was only there to get a word in with the new Governor. He is a suck up of the worst kind. You are an idiot for voting for him. Voting for Mathias over a Republican shows your ignorance. To bad you didn't sign your name.

  12. Was Fake Jake Day in attendance?

What about Laura Mitchell and Shameless Shields?

  13. Don't miss the first firefight of the Culver days -- at thw Council meeting tonight, after the new members are sworn in. That Pollitt bond bill is back on the agenda, and there will be big noise if they don't fund the early planning for another new school -- this time on the west side of the County. That may reveal whether Hall and Matt Holloway (RINO's who supported Pollitt) have changed their stripes.

  15. Wonderful ceremony today, done with class. Singer was terrific.
Glad to see that Culver recognizes that our community has social problems in addition to financial ones. Heroin epidemic and homelessness come to mind. Hogan was amazing. Socialized with guests before start of event stayed a bit after. His speech was awesome. If everyone will give Culver and Hogan a chance and not undermine them, great days will be ahead. I'm talking to you - RINOs on the Council.

  17. Okay I am not a fan of Jake Day's nor any democrat for that matter, but I will give him credit where credit is due.
Him showing up was what he should have done as well as every other elected official within the county. No excuses.
Maybe he was late, because he was doing the speed limit something he is fairly new at and misjudged the time needed to be on time-LOL.

  18. My wife and I attended. It was class act, from the invocation to the benediction.
If these two guys (Hogan, Culver) follow through with their philosophy, goals and objectives, the citizens of our state and county will surely benefit.

  20. Buncha class acts here. Insulting people who don't act like partisan hacks. There are so few people actually working to make this a better place. Glad for the people who don't play these games.
